I've read a couple synopsises plus I'm downloading a couple episodes of Air Gear, random ones really, but I would like to know the total objective of the series, the antagonist and protagonist and anything interesting that made the anime compelling.

Personally, I'm quite pleased with the 70x70 limit. It's quite a lot of room to work with, compared with a lot of limits, and even though it's an animation, it is just an idle, which doesn't really have much in the way of real movement.

I've read a couple synopsises plus I'm downloading a couple episodes of Air Gear, random ones really, but I would like to know the total objective of the series, the antagonist and protagonist and anything interesting that made the anime compelling.

As I said before, the quickest possible summary of Air Gear that I can give you is that it's essentially Jet Set Radio, minus the graffiti.

It's about teams/gangs of skaters, known as Storm Riders, who battle each other to be the best. They ride on motorized skates called "Air Trecks" (or ATs for short) that allow them to ride at insane speeds, jump to insane heights, and pull off insane stunts. If you can't tell, it's highly illegal.

The show's main character is named Ikki (ref), and the story is about his quest to lead his team, Kogarasumaru, to the top. Ikki essentially has the potential to be the best storm rider in the world (aka The Sky King) and everyone can see it.

Some of the characters on his team are:

Kazu (ref) who is incredibly fast, which eventually earns him the nickname "Spitfire"

Buccha (ref) (better ref) who rides on 4-wheeled ATs and is built like a tank

Agito (ref) who is one of the best storm riders in Japan; has multiple personalities (explains the straight jacket and eyepatch)


IMPORTANT CHARACTER BELOW

Ringo (ref)
(secretly) the leader of Sleeping Forest, the greatest storm rider team in the world. She lives with her three sisters and Ikki. Has a huge crush on Ikki, and everyone can see it (except Ikki).


Antagonists:

Simca (ref) who would be the closest thing to a main antagonist. While Ikki just wants to be the best, she has other plans for him.

Kaito (Ref)
A cop, and the leader of a special Air Treck SWAT Team specifically designed to take down storm riders. He wears a specially modified pair of shoes that can transform into ATs to allow him to pursue and arrest people. He's Agito's older brother and will stop at nothing to take down storm riders.


Due to the dynamic nature of the show and the fact that they battle a bunch of different teams, there isn't really one "true" antagonist for most of the show.
