Really? Because I remember getting to Sora's pod as Roxas and thinking "Thank god!"; however, dual-wielding Roxas was incredibly fun to play as, especially since it was so early in the game. Also, I was so glad the first time I saw some heartless in the game. Nobodies are the worst.

And on the subject of 1 vs. 2, I'd have to say I prefer the overall feel of 1. It had trinities, dalmatian puppies, dodge roll, and just a more lighthearted storyline than 2. Really the only thing 2 had to offer was REACTION COMMANDS, which could have been good had it been properly implemented. It seemed like every fight was just watching a movie clip over and over until your opponent ran out of health.

Another gripe I had with 2 was the new heartless in the game. Their designs were way too cartoony. Also, the new storylines for each world were incredibly uninspired. I liked in the first one where they were all sort of tied together by Malificent's league of Disney villains.

Regardless, both of them are still better than Chain of Memories. That gameplay ugggghhh

2 was ALL CINEMATIC ALL THE TIME while 1 wasn't quite enough imo. overall i prefer 1's plot plus the fact that it is actually a challenge.

I played 2 First, so when I got round to finding (and beating) 1; I didn't like it as much. It's aged horribly. The jumping controls are ick (who thought it was a good idea to have a /minimum/ jumping distance?), and the targeting system is even worse (It refuses to track large foes with any kind of accuracy. The already brickwall-ish Cerberus fight is made a lot harder when he's throwing fireballs from off screen.)

Otherwise I find them much of a muchness. KH1's MP system was better, though.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.

Sora has less personality than Ash Ketchum.

If your not of fan of Disney do not go through those glowing doors my friend. Kingdom Hearts basically captured half it's fan base because they were already fans of a lot of Disney movies. Plus a lot of people have played Final Fantasy games (7-9) so it all kinda tied in for people. If you DO decide to embark on a magical journey only the 'minds' (I use this term loosely) could come up with do so from beginning to end.

KH, KHRe:CoM, KHCute58/2, KH2, KH:BbS. I'd say this is the best approach. In terms of how much you can enjoy and appreciate. If you can't get past a title then stop.

Sora is suppose to be a boy who could be any boy, and most young men are bland, and over-eager at least the ones I know.

Well, let's be honest I played for fighting Sephiroth in his KH2 incarnation is harder because he doesn't become random by his last bar. I know cause I fought them both back to back and won both fights just to see if they were copies.

yeah, sephiroth was harder, but you can easily beat the second game without a single death if you dont fight him and you know what you're doing. the first one actually had some tough parts, mostly because a single attack combo didn't mean a full lifebar's worth of damage

Meh, to each his own on the story, characters and such but Kingdom Hearts 2 had that dash thing that you get from wisdom form and in the Final Mix version you actually DO get a dodge roll from leveling Limit form. Still I get what you're saying though about the other stuff.

First game's story is basically a cheesy crossover fanfiction complete with a mary sue main character- and it's not even a bad thing, it works incredibly well for the game.

Since then they've been trying to make the overall plot more complex and it just comes off as pretty silly overall. I found the second one a lot more fun though, really wish they brought over the Final Mixes over here but I can live without them.

Unfortunately Chain of Memories is pretty much unbearable to play (the story is kinda cool though), and 358/2 days is just pretty boring overall. Started playing Birth by Sleep and its not too bad so far though, but with the reputation the side games have with me I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up not liking it.

Birth by Sleep is actually a lot like KH2 combat wise with a little bit more platforming like KH1. Its just a bit repetitive at times because you go through the same worlds with every character. Its fun, but a lot of the same at times. The monopoly minigame doesn't help.
