he always had kind of a goth look, now he dresses... kinda like a normal dude? Unless only emos wear leather jackets and have short hair now.

It's still very much in the same vein as his previous clothing anyway, because it's still got a definite alternative bent to it

I can't say I'm a fan of the DARKER AND EDGIER thing either
but really, from seeing, what, one exterior and one interior can we really judge the entire visual style of the game? Really?

And most people are bitching about the new design, which, aside from the hair and new jacket, is pretty par for the course. He couldn't keep the red trench forever, because it's dated as hell.

they've given him new costumes while keeping the same aesthetic and it's looked fine, like his more hard rock looking outfit in 2 and 4.

Well, I personally think that jacket would look horrible on any one. It doesn't really help matters that Dante has a sissified slimmer lame teen RPG hero build so it doesn't even look like the jacket fits him.

on a different topic, i am a bit curious as to how the combat will play, considering it's ninja theory, and heavenly sword is like the only example i think of. and that's bad.

Honestly with this redesign I'm just kind of happy to see a main character who isn't pretty. And he looks kind of dirtied up, which is also a plus
