I HATE YOU CAPCOM: DMC5

Quote:one can asume god of war and bayonetta will somehow experience the same effect on their reboots.
god of wars reboot would be... exactly like god of war, then?
because god of war is definitely already incredibly stupid and curtailed to an incredibly american audience

i don't actually know anybody that likes god of war in my town besides my friend jake;
There are infinitely better ways to tailor something to an American audience besides being completely dumb

also I thought they already said Bayonetta would never have a 'true sequel' but it would be the same characters in a multitude of settings and genres

I'm still a irked that a western developer is behind this if only because eastern and western action games tend to differ on a lot of principles. A lot of western action games tend to focus a lot of attention to the weight of the attacks and the spectacle. It's easy to see this with all the QTEs and moves that seem to have less control. Meanwhile, you have games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta that build on combo-bility and more precise controls. I also find a better balance in offense and defense. So I'm wondering which direction Ninja Theory will go, especially since weight isn't really a factor in DMC's combat much, relying more on speedy attacks and quick execution.

About the character design, it just seems like an indicator that this Dante won't be the same almost self-aware arrogant guy he was. I just don't really care for a more "human" design when the world around him is so twisted and airy. I mean, with Dante, he was a great contrast with the gothic castle interiors but it worked well because he was such an absurd character. Mind you, this can all change when we hear neo Dante speak lines that actually form personality. His actions in fighting are similar enough to old Dante at least.

Well, Ninja Theory has a little experience with Action Games, heavenly sword was a little bit closer to Devil May Cry in terms of the actual combat, but they have no clue how to make a fight look good.

Are you implying that Platinum Games (A.K.A. Game Gonna Fuckin' Own Games A.K.A. Vanquish gonna own peace) would do such a thing to their games. Because that isn't a very sensible thing to imply.

unless implying it was part of thejoke.flv

anyway, if we japanized god of war, we'd get onimusha. bayonetta is already p much attractive to both markets and vanquish is literally a jap developer making a "western-ish" game.

welp

Okay, this is an explanation. Not a bad one, but then not really a good one...I still reserve judgment until I see more.

... uuuhhhh how are bondage references even remotely related to the east (vs. the west)?
it wasn't kinbaku or anything, it was just straight up femdomme imagery
and how is adding T&A related to race at all? I'm pretty sure that's just playing to the Horny Gamer stereotype

Bayonetta had Western references in terms of area designs, because there was a definite european and gothic influence on a lot of the areas, the character designs seemed pretty Eastern-influenced to me, even if some of the ideas were (loosely) derived from Wicca (and also pulp action, what)
IDG why Capcom have got such a boner for western influence
when it's done well it's pretty awesome, but Bayonetta's design was UGLY CLUSTERFUCK.

I wanted to like the game because it was fun and fast but I hated it because of how ridiculously fucking juvenile everything else was.

since when were "skimpy clothes" a fetish?
I really think I'm missing something here :/
unless you mean because they're gym clothes
in which case I could rant at you for kind of a long time about the difference between finding something attractive and it being a fetish
because nobody fucking understands this shit
