.BRRES Model Viewer\Converter
#1
Hey everyone just popping in to drop off a .BRRES model viewer and converter. It's able to convert bones and animations with models and it properly extracts textures. I've found it very useful and I hope it can be of some use to those around here. This is for converting things such as Brawl models or Tatsunoko Vs Capcom models.

The program is pretty self explanatory. I wish you luck.

Granted, a lot of them need to have their files decompressed using certain tools, but still, all of those games share the same model format, which is MDL0. Kryal/BlackJax96's BrawlBox 0.65 can also export DAE files of the models, so that can work as an alternative, if you can't use PSK/MD5 files for some reason.

Well since you were kind enough to post that up I guess I'll get off my lazy ass and post them in the Game Specific Model Ripping thread already. I really should have posted that stuff up a while ago, but a combination of me forgetting and not feeling like doing it when I did remember kinda stopped me.

Thanks for putting this stuff together by way, I'll try to get some more stuff up in that thread sometime, but schoolwork being time consuming and Halo Reach being awesome have kept me from that stuff as of late.

I would like to point out that once you have your desired game to rip from, you need to use a program to extract the brres files from. I don't know if it's allowed to be known here, but Wii Scrubber does exactly that. Just wanted to make it friendlier to some. I'm currently ripping from the Haruhi game listed. Problem is, their models are broken up into parts, but I'll see what I can do for fun.

Well, if you're having too much problems getting it to work, I can always rip and assemble the models.

Anyway, I'm just gonna go check Wii Play's files. If the other "Wii" series games are any sort of proof (Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music, etc.), then it might have MDL0 as well.

I just figured people knew about programs like Wii Scrubber so extracting .brres files wasn't a problem. I guess I'll post that up as well. Dolphin (The emulator) extracts files from Wii and Gamecube games too in case that helps at all.

That's what I use to extract the files.

i just got the thing, i downloaded a model ,and it doesn'tCry work!!!

Probably because the models on the site are in normal model formats and therefore won't work with a .brres viewer. It'd be like opening an MS Word document in MS Paint.

Just get Blender or some other 3D modeling app if you want to try messing around with the models on the site.

Brres viewer can't open psk. You will need Noesis, it can convert the files to 3ds, obj, smd and others. Here's the link.
