A TSR SHOP!?!?!?!? AMAZING!

T-shirts, hats, mouse mats, now that would be cool.

I would buy one. Actually, I wouldn't, because my mouse is actually a tablet, but if I had an actual mouse I would. Tongue

And I'd so but a T-shirt. Or maybe a CD with say, every Zelda sprite so far. I know it's a fail idea, but some peple would rather do it that save every one.

Dazz can't do anything with a store if the goods have items copyrighted by game companies on them. Every game company would then sue Dazz and get this place shut down if he tried to sell anything that infringed on the game companies' copyrights.

I don't see a store doing any good here. The only way Dazz can make money is either through donations or advertising. There's nothing that says Dazz has to use standard advertising either. He could open it up to take advertising requests from the public. Like if you have a site you want to plug, you can pay Dazz for the right to have the site plugged on tSR.

Hell fucking no am I selling my do.
I could probably set up some kind of shop, but I doubt many people would buy anything. I could be wrong though - I'll look into it later.

As for CDs and such, Ngamer is right. I can't sell other people's stuff.
However, I can sell custom sprites on t-shirts and such, thus the custom work can come through. Obviously I'd ask the creator's permission first.
I'm very picky on designs though.

In order to sell the mascots, we need to implement them, so that's not going to work for a while Tongue
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

I doubt the older people who visit/use this site care enough to buy merchandise.

The younger people might, but it's not like they're allowed to buy things online.

The shop would be a failure.

you'd be surprised. I've got a bunch of friends who come here for sprites all the time and would give anything for a tSR shirt.

Yeah, small stuff like t-shirts, mugs, pen, keychains... It might actually be a good idea to help maintain the site.

Years ago, Psyguy got a cease and desist order for selling stuff with "original" remixed sounds and "custom" sprites. So no and no.
You still could try using a Paypal account to accept voluntary donations, but for what I've seen (and I've seen a lot) any kind of online stores regarding *any* stuff relationed with sprites and videogames is not only unreliable but also risky.

Did the sprites belong to someone else and he sold them without permission ?
If not, then I don't see why it would be a problem. Freedom of expression, and it's not hurting anybody Blank
