Heya' kids,
This is something Dex and myself started to work on together. We will post any updates between the two of us on here for you guys to see. hopefully we will get it finished by Halloween, since the theme is suppose to be for that.

I am absolutely loving that silhouetted glow effect
the left hand could be refined a little more (that glow on the hand doesn't seem right to me :F), but other than that, I want to see this thing finished~

foreground grass is flat, the boy's anatomy is messed up, the light coming from the lamp conveys volume poorly, the light diffuses strangely (on one plane wtf).
light is a big issue in this picture.
the texture on the trees is too boring and monotonous to my taste, i think it could play more with the volume of the branches, roots and trunk. i also think there needs to be more mushrooms. and dead leaves, more foliage.
i think the sky could do with brighter and more interesting/moody colours, you could really play with the amount of light in the woods and in the open. the sky is really important, do some cool clouds.
if you want to go ott on the drama check out some caspar david friedrich paintings, they could help you two out ! 
i want to see this finished, and i will do an edit if you don't understand what i mean!

we're both fairly happy with the tree texture so far, it's nothing revolutionary, though. i agree. we'll definitely look into most of those points! thanks : )
