Okey, I made it alittle shorter soi that it is about the same size as the original. I'll remove the tag and work on the shape tommoro, I'll think of something to do with the head before I go to bed, in the meantime, i'll be browsing the fourms.

pikmin, we're tired of you. i'm tired of you. this comunity tried to help you in several ways, so did i, so did chris.

all of these ended in nothing.

this thread can go to hell, and you'll be good taking a one year vacation away from tsr. and if in that year you can't improve not yourself as a spriter, but as a whole person with the least bit of common sense we all need to behave normally on this site, you can just pretend you never came here and we'll just never miss you.

oh, and by the way: PLEASE do make an alt with an even more useless excuse. that should give us a reason to perma ban you out of tsr.

Koreo: your most recent update still has problems:
-the shape of the cap of the goomba
- the height still isn't right
-the body could be shortened
-shading still isn't right, look at how it is on your reference.
-as your goomba is a work in progress, you don't need a tag. as i said before, it can be put on when it awaits submission.
i see you've tried to move the eyes/head in the animation, it still doesn't look good, but keep on trying. do you have a program to animate it with? if not, use previous's gif animator. I was doing an edit but I don't have time to finish it in the near future, so keep on experimenting and creating several versions of the goomba you can compare, then coose which pleases you best (and if you're not sure post them here and we'll give you our point of view).
i'm counting on you to update and finish this!

could be a lot more better, but it's an improvement from the original sprite you posted.

My main problem is that the shading reminds me more of the pipes from the mario games.

There's some improvement, Koreo! You've almost fixed the shading.
Don't concentrate too much on one frame when you do animations, just saying this in case you do on the most recent update.
I think your sprite still looks too similar to the SMAS goomba, so I made an edit which looks a bit more like a NSMB one:

As you can notice, it is just about changing the shape of the eyes, adding a mouth and some teeth, nothing very hard!
As for the animation itself... look very carefully at how the eyes move on the NSMB goomba. Look at how the goomba's outline changes; the reason why you can't animate him properly is because you cannot visualise and successfully draw the volume the NSMB goomba is suggesting in the animation.
Use the animator program I linked to: create an animation with the NSMB goombas, then with yours, then try and understand where (which frame or frames) has/have got mistakes on it. Just keep looking at the NSMB animation play, it really does help.
Finish this goomba animation, you can do it.

Okey. I'm not really working on the animations right now though, plus, I can't download anything becuse my brother was the one who fixed my computer, but he is the only admin, and made me a person who can't download stuff, I can use Iaza though. I kept the eyebrows like that to still keep some old fashion taste. Plus, I think his eyebrows are like that in the official NSMB goomba artwork.

Also, I used the shape of the eyes you made, if you don't mind

This is looking good!
I think the feet look rather small and triangular now and the shape of the head is rather blocky.
Okay I don't care about your excuses, you find a way round working on your animations.
I do mind you using them actually. Change them.
I'm looking forward to progress on the animation next time you post!

I edited the feet and the animation. The reason the Goomba doesn't bounse is becuse I placed it by the area of the head, not the feet/body.

All you need now is some up and down movement for the head, refinement in the shading and in the changing of the shape in the animation!
Remember: the goomba leans on one foot, tipping slightly to one side, then leans on the other and tips on the other side.
Almost finished!

His head shape gets really weird in the side views, it kind of has a blocky square shape sticking out of it

nice work so far though, keep at it

I think I got it right, but it doesn't look right to me.
