"IT DOESNT MEASURE UP TO THE PS3 IN TERMS OF GRAPHICS BUT I THINK PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO GET OVER THAT"

ugh.

can we please not let people who know nothing about videogames do news reports about videogames

Just out of curiosity, how high's everyone got the 3d settings?
I found it sort of uncomfortable when it was turned right up, but when it's only about halfway it was a lot better than I was expecting. Might just be because I'm a speccy four-eyes, though.

I'm pretty impressed with the 3D. It's fairly subtle and not too distracting.

Also, damn this thing looks classy compared to the DSi. If I wasn't whirling about shooting at my own floating face I'd almost feel like a grownup using it :v

Whoa holy shit the AR is impossibly cool. I couldn't play much since I don't have room to really move around my desk, but oh man, it's wicked.

So is the 3DS actually super cool and worth getting right now?

No, it doesn't have PS3 graphics, although it seems hardcore Halo players can enjoy it.

Honestly though, from what I've heard, it's a lot of fun, but the current list of games are meh, although I've heard some people say those AR cards make up for it a bit. Either way I'm only getting mine at launch for the DS trade in credit bonus.

I really figured a portable system wouldn't have graphics of THAT quality... it could pretty much run GameCube games though I've heard.

I was making a joke based on the video I posted on the last page, but yeah, I heard it's actually a bit better than Gamecube, although it all probably varies from game to game.

It's totally inaccurate, but I always look at it in terms of main console progression;
the GBA was basically a hand-held SNES, the DS could do roughly Nintendo 64 graphics, so I'd assume the 3DS would be around the same space as the gamecube, graphics-wise at least.

Well the GBA was more of an upgraded SNES, as the GBA was 32-bit, but the SNES was only 16-bit.

But yeah, I see you're point. Don't forget about the Gameboy Color pretty much being a handheld NES.

3DS graphics are easily better than the Gamecube (full potential at least). The Resident Evil games are a good example of what the system can really crank out.

My cousin told me that it could even run Wii games decently if the graphics quality was cut down. It's pretty darn powerful. It's not your average portable.

I know, I mean, when I heard that I could only play the 3DS for 5 consecutive hours at a time, that was kind of a dealbreaker for me right there.

GBC is stronger than NES
GBA is stronger than SNES apparently
NDS is obviously stronger than N64 so yeah
it would make since that the 3ds would have much better graphics than the GCN especially since the Wii is barely stronger than the GCN

As someone who will never play a game for more than 2 hours in one sitting unless with company; this doesn't bother me.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.

Really? But you never saw incredible graphics like SMG on the GameCube. The Wii must be good bit more powerful.
