matt, you need to provide material to this project if you really want it to come true. without any material we can't help you. it's all very vague for now.

I know. He was really excited for this and was constantly PMing me ideas about it (not that I mind), but I told him that we weren't ready for this so he understood and we decided to just brainstorm.

When you create a thread, it's usually because you've finished the brainstorming process.

Edit: I think I'll close this for now, until you have everything that's necessary, which are: a clear idea of what you want to do, how you'll do it, and some actual sprites to show that you are working and indeed have started this project.
Also, please stop spamming, shadow penguin and paleoking, this isn't an instant messenger conversation.
