For a while now I've mostly been hiding/going out whenever my religious relatives come to visit.

Having people tell me I need to accept Jesus so he can use his magic powers to save me from hell is really, really fucking annoying when I'm stressed/having headaches.

Covering the bakery shift. 5am to 1pm. Have to get up at 4am.

Had 2 day training but honestly, it's like I know I'm going to epicly fuck it up, badly, when I go solo.
To make things worse there's like a few days until I do the actual bakery shift so I'm just working normal shifts, utterly fucking my sleep pattern and no doubt I'll forget like everything in the space of those days.

The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of natural remedies and cures that work just fine, most of the treatments I do myself are based around things I have around the house already, lemon, honey, oils, herbs and so on.
The problem is that people don't understand that most medicines, particularly the ones you can buy over the counter, work in exactly the same way but with more refined substances. Most, if not all, medications and drugs are extracted from plants, you can even extract them yourself if you have the equipment and know the process.

Anyway, that's besides the point really, sore throat, right.
Like Jetters said it could be an early symptom of an illness, or it could be one of the bajillion other causes, which are all fairly simple and boring so I won't go through them all.
(As a heavy smoker and a singer I can tell you first hand that you don't have to be sick to have a sore throat)

Best advice is to drink honey and lemon in hot water and make sure you're getting enough fluids, and generally treat it like any other illness, avoid smoking, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and other things that might aggravate it.
Should ease off in a day or two, but it can last upward of a week, if it hasn't gotten better after a couple of weeks you may have an infection and need a course of antibiotics, but unless there are other obvious symptoms you're pretty much healthy enough to go about your day like you normally would.

Yeah, I just went on as usual yesterday, just drank a bit more water than usual to try and ease it. But anyway it's better today, still oh-so-slightly sore but barely noticeable.
And yeah my dad's not so much about the synthetic chemicals as he is about just not using medicine if it's not necessary. He's just cautious about that sort of stuff. In any case I can't really discuss it properly because 1) I don't know about this stuff and 2) he's my dad so... y'know.

On another note, there was a fire on the top two floors of the flat next to the one across the road from us. It wasn't the worst thing ever, not sure if anybody got injured/killed, but there were flames coming out of one window. The fire department got it out eventually, but in the usual Egyptian fashion it wasn't as efficient as it should have been. In any case it's good that it didn't spread further down the flat.

Lubuntu is already giving me problems '_;
The wireless applet does NOT like unstable wireless connections. Whenever my connection drops,it enters a perpetual cycle of asking for the network password and never actually connecting. I either need to restart the network adapter or reboot entirely to fix it. On the plus side, Touchpad support is better, two-finger scrolling works.
Oh and Code::Blocks refuses to save settings in Lubuntu, which is kinda frustrating because of how involved the setup in CB is.

Speaking of Code::Blocks: C++ PROGRAMMING
I FINALLY got Fluidsynth compiled. I FINALLY got sfMidi compiled, I FINALLY got a program to run with it.

... and it sounds fucking atrocious. Several instruments in the song have been mangled. All of my effort has essentially amounted to jack shit and I should've just gone with using OGGs in the first place. Now the problem is if I can get point-looping to work in streamed audio formats with SFML in any capacity or whether I should just cut out the intro stuff from all of the songs/have them a separate file.

'_;
Though stuff like this makes me realize I'll eventually need to migrate to raw OpenGL/OpenAL-or-what-have-you for future cross-platform Gamedev.

I can tell that this is going to be one of those days where I'll to be too tired to do pretty much anything. It took me, like, 2 hours to force myself to get out of bed and now I don't feel like moving from my chair.

Welcome to my world. I've felt that way for the past few months.

As soon as you can't get out of bed, your whole day is basically smegged. It's just like one of those unwritten rules.

Got a cold. May be related to the sore throat, may be related to my sister having a cold, may be related to the former being caused by the latter. In any case my sore throat is gone but now every 5 seconds I have to either sniff or blow my nose.

And it's really just TICKING ME OFF. Which really isn't helping my progress on my Halloween gift either.

Aw man... were you able to get rid of your throat problem with the garlic-lemon method?
Sorry you couldn't prevent it. Sad

Didn't take any garlic/lemon, it was just fine the next day. It may have helped preventing the cold though. I will be taking garlic and lemon juice now, hopefully it should go away in a couple of days.

I don't think I'm going to be sleeping well tonight. I've got really annoying pains in my neck and the painkillers I've taken aren't doing any good.

got to visit home for the first time in over a month today, which was good, but apparently my cat has taken to sleeping in the litter box? what do

Speaking of which I finally asked my mom to contact my aunt and ask if she can fly over and stay with nana for awhile in my stead, because I keep getting more and more stressed out from being there, and apparently because her passport is about to expire, she can't be here until mid-November at the earliest. But I guess I should be thankful she can come over at all, and three weeks to myself will be bliss if I can last that long. I already feel guilty about leaving nana though.

On top of that, what I can only assume is a wisdom tooth has been coming in for awhile, (or has stopped? not sure if it's pushed out any further in awhile) except recently food tends to get stuck in the general area, so I'm worried about it possibly getting infected, which would be very bad. And then occasionally I try to clean it with my nail, which I'm certain increases the risk of fucking everything up exponentially. The area has started to hurt and the gum around the tooth next to it has felt a little....inflamed? It feels like it might have swelled a bit...or is a little loose? Eugh. :/ Maybe I'm overreacting, and I would've already scheduled a dentist appointment, but I no longer have dental insurance. At this point I might go anyway though, I'd rather be in debt and healthy than have anything terrible happen. From what I've heard, when people have problems with wisdom teeth, it can get ugly pretty fast.

Both of my cousins have had problems with their wisdom teeth, and were in so much pain they had to get them pulled.
Not trying to scare you though, as I'm sure you'll be okay once you get to the dentist. Since I don't know that much about this issue nor have I had such problems (thankfully), I'd just suggest trying to keep them brushed once or twice a day if you're able and I guess avoid really hard food that might break it or lodge it out of place or something. Hope you get it sorted out! Sad

I got myself raging again over the people's stupidity on the Wii. And I ask myself time and time again "how did this happen?" how is it that the Wii has such great games that always go unnoticed?
