What movie did you just watch?
Anne Hathaway has no business being Cat Woman.

I still haven't been able to get psyched for The Dark Knight Rises.

See, Batman's problem in everything he's in is that the villain always, always steals the show, and after Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow and Ledger's absolutely incredible run as the Joker... well, shit. How do you top them?

Then there's Bane. I've never really disliked Bane as a character, but he, as a whole, really only exists altogether for one reason. Oh, and spoilers there, if you keep your head under a rock. The point is, Bane only exists to up the ante, which is not in itself a bad thing, but the character of Batman himself was never interesting. He's got this little internal struggle that's required to keep being Batman. Take that away, and he's revealed as a mannequin for how much the audience can identify with him. Adding another, much more direct conflict, does not depth make.

Bale also overacts the fuck out of Batman (and I want to knife somebody every time he speaks while he's got the cowl on), but I've very much liked how he does Bruce Wayne.

Well that was a superlong way to say that I'm a Batfan who hasn't seen The Dark Knight Rises.

I just think that an actor should at least remotely resemble their character in some way. Anne Hathaway is the last person on Earth I'd pick.

But she looked hot in that catwoman outfit...

The theme is so fucking awesome, on par with Akira's soundtrack.

Just finished re-watching Hot Fuzz with my dad. He liked it, but I'm not sure he got all the jokes.

Ice Age: Continental Drift.

Why do I feel like Gainax wrote the script to this movie? (seriously, my mind was playing tricks on me while I was watching it)

The Skin I Live In

Good (as in very good) but man what a messed up idea for a film... creepy.

La piel que habito was the first Almodovar film I saw. I really enjoyed the story because of the themes and questions it raises, plus the acting was great. The main actress is so beautiful! Shy

I watched Roujin Z today: quite a peripetic and funny film, albeit with an underlying sadness. Kind of reminded me of Tokyo Godfathers.

Green Hornet - had low expectations of it so enjoyed it a lot more than I probably should have.
Scream 4 - was what I was expecting but not too bad all the same.
Chronicle - was good until the main plot actually started.
The Skin I Live In - (again with one of the brothers). It's so odd how the plot seems so obvious once you've seen it. It's like, how did I not see this coming?
Hobo with a Shotgun - It's so awesome and it really shouldn't be. There's so much unnecessary over the top gross bits it really walks the 'funny/what the fuck' line very finely.
Punisher War Zone - I liked the first film. I know it's like some terrible cliche action film but I liked it. I'd heard this one was meant to be better. I disagree. Strongly.

And probably a few more I can't think of right now. Movie marathons...
