What movie did you just watch?

Once again I'm disappointed with how un-Sherlocky he is. Honestly, I feel like the makers don't expect the audience to have read the books. I wouldn't be surprised if the makers haven't read the books themselves.
Apart from that though, it was a good movie. The action can be a bit overwhelming at times but the slo-mo shots are awesome, and the humour is pretty nice too. The ending was a bit too open for my taste but good nonetheless.

Seriously though, the fact that it's supposed to be the original and actual Sherlock Holmes is annoying. I'm not saying I hate the character: I love how he deduces fights, and his manner is entertaining. But it's not Sherlock Holmes, and it just grinds my gears that it's meant to be. If it were even set in a different time or country, and only based off the English 19th century Holmes, that would have been better.

(Also Watson should be fat and Mycroft is hilarious.)
Watch the ''Sherlock'' tv series. There are only about 6 episodes but each is an hour and a half long. It's not only one of the best sherlock holmes tv series/movies it's one of the best tv shows i've seen in a long time.
this is a sig

Yeah I've seen that, and it is extremely good (my sister's a massive fan). There are of course a couple of differences in his character from the original Sherlock (he's a bit ruder, etc), but that's all perfectly fine since it's in a whole different century, whereas the movies are in the 1890s.

I think one of the reasons I'm so annoyed by the movie is because the first motion picture adaptation I saw of Sherlock Holmes was the 1984 TV series. In these Holmes and Watson are pretty much exactly like in the books.

I think BBC's Sherlock is the closest the character has ever been to the books. It's the first time his character has had his negative traits shown well for a long long time.

Also, Prometheus (third time - this time with the in-laws). They didn't like it...

The only thing I don't get is... why a squid? Unless the black stuff is like altered squid ink or some crap...

Not bad, woudnt watch it again.
Best James Bond I've seen but that's not saying much.

Huh, I adore Sam Mendes (especially American Beauty), so I wouldn't expect anything too terrible from him, but to each his own! I'm really looking forward to seeing Skyfall. Hated Quantum of Solace, but I loved Casino Royale, and from what I've heard, this is even better.

Watching Battle Royale. Obviously not as good as the book, but still a pretty good movie.
Feeling a huge Studio Ghibli marathon this weekend. Might happen.

Finally got my friends to go see Wreck it Ralph with me. I absolutely loved all the subtle tie-ins and the way the movie wrapped up, although my friends said they thought it was okay. I think because I understood all of the references from different games and such that I enjoyed it more, gives the movie something I can connect to. Smile

Saw Men In Black 3 the other day and thought it was pretty good! Maybe not as good as the first one (it's been years since I saw that), but definitely better than the second.

Just watched Ted

If you enjoy any of Seth Mcfarlane's other work, you'll love this movie too

Seriously, I very much enjoyed it

Saw Despicable Me last weekend, enjoyed it quite a bit. Some of the jokes I'd already seen plenty of times in the trailer (e.g. "I said dart gun") but there were still heaps that were fabulous. Plus the plot was pretty good too.

Also saw HP and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 a couple of days ago. My sister's reading the book and was pointing out all the inconsistencies (which I totally understand) but since I'd read it years ago I'd completely forgotten just about everything. There were a couple of times when I was like "oh yeah I remember that" though, and from what I recall it looked pretty much exactly as I'd imagined it.
In any case good movie.
