Help with a couple of Xbox games

So, I travel to America with $160 to spend on whatever I like. So what should I get? More games, of course. But when I get a couple of Xbox games, Fifa world cup 2010 for my brother and Dragon Ball: Raging Blast for me, but the American discs don't work on an English Xbox. Since I cant get a refund from a shop we dont even have here, I think I need a way to be able to play them on the console. Does anybody know a way to play foreign games on my Xbox?

NTSC games on a PAL console? Region-lock doesn't like that. Don't buy games for a console from a different region, that's the best advise I can give you.
But since the harm is already done, all I can say is you're f'd. Unless you modify the console, which brings its own heap of trouble, there is (for as far as I know) no way to make your PAL European X-Box read the American NTSC game disks.
