If you skip all the cut scenes in Kingdom Hearts (1 & 2) it actually becomes a pretty decent game Tongue

Skipping all of the cutscenes in Kingdom Hearts II cuts down on your overall gameplay time by hours. HOURS. And also makes the three hour tutorial a one hour distraction at best.

Too bad the cutscenes are generally entertaining, except for the Pride Lands cutscenes due to bad lip synching.

Yes. Last I checked, Devil May Cry played at 60 FPS. The new DmC was reported to play at 30 FPS, though I guess it's subject to change. One of the few redeemable qualities in my opinion was the fact the game ran quite quickly and smoothly.

...Oh I think you got your FPS confused. lol It's understandable, what with the current FPS/TPS fad going on. But no I meant frames per second.

Call of Duty runs at 60 FPS, and it's still an incredibly sub mediocre game.
Also, You made it sound as if you were calling it a First Person Shooter. You really need to specify what you're actually talking about.

Certain genres perform better at faster fps than others.

With that said, I find it hard to believe games like Sonic Generations run at 30 fps.

I had no trouble discerning what he meant. If you actually know the terminology, its not very hard.

The issue is that games like devil may cry (or the whole extreme action/fighting game genre, really) are built upon a faster pace and a much stronger sense of precision.

et cetera

Oh I know terminology, but FPS, I've mostly seen it used with First Person Shooter, so that's what I associate it to, when I see even magazines use "frames per second"
But whatever.

lower case fps = Frames Per Second

upper case FPS = First Person Shooter

We cool? cool.

As long as you use lowercase next time Tongue

BTW I have a modified version of that song and it's really cool.

You don't have to understand the story of Kingdom Hearts to enjoy it. The gameplay can stand on its own quite well, ESPECIALLY in KH2.

That's true for a lot of games. I did in fact play a TINY bit of KH1 but I didn't get past the bridge because I was really young and was just goofing off hopping around on the bridge. Shy

Wow, I can't believe that Kingdom Hearts 1 will be 10 years old next year. Fuck I feel old.

KH1 space ship editor? I've nearly smashed my controller due to this crap. The dungeons in this game were also very annoying, especially Monstro. Oh, and the KH1 space routes -> lylat wars for hobos.

Rest of the game (story, music, fighting, graphics, voice acting) was very good, but KH2 was much better (overall).

The dungeons in KH1 were... bad? I mean I can understand them being annoying the first time, but once you get used to them you realize they're actually well designed. Hollow Bastion is one of the best dungeons in Kingdom Hearts history for example.

Monstro was bad.

Monstro was probably the worst level of the game. It wouldn't have been nearly as aggravating if all the rooms didn't look exactly the same, and if they weren't so claustrophobic. Kingdom Hearts' camera system was not made for small areas. Otherwise I think the levels in the game were tolerable.
