Pc Genjin/Bonk's Adventure models
#16
I can tell you're not familiar with how things work around here. Tongue You will get full credit for all of these.

Are you sure you fixed all of the textures? None of them have alpha, and some of them I can tell use them. Did you check the export settings like I suggested?

Also, would you mind putting each one into separate .RARs? (You can still put all of those RARs in a single RAR for uploading.) It's nicer for users to be able to look through and pick which models they want instead of having to download everything in one big package to grab something.

Also also, I've moved this to the proper forum: Gamecube/Wii submissions.

ok then how do you know if a texture has the alpha then? And how do you apply the alpha, if i can't figure it out you may have to apply them -.-

is opacity part of the alpha transparancy?

The alpha channel is what lets you see through parts of the image. It's part of the image, and you will know if it's there because you will be able to see the checkerboard pattern of the canvas behind the image. If you need more help on this, there are plenty of tutorials on the basics of image editing and photoshop out there.

Take this image for example. If you can put it into photoshop and export it again with the same transparency, you'll know you're doing it right. Wink

It looks exactly the same. If you can't see through the texture, it doesn't make use of the alpha channel. You haven't worked with images before, have you?

i have used photoshop before to make art before but i have never used this alpha feature before, i'm probablly mediocre when it comes to this Sad

In that case, you can go ahead and send the models using .TGA instead. I will handle all of the conversions for you before uploading.

Afterwards, I highly suggest you look up how to work with alpha transparency. It will help you greatly in anything relating to video game graphics and image editing in general.

Yes, exactly.

By the way, would you mind telling me which of these are enemies, bosses, items, and good guys? I've never played the game before, so I need help in organizing all of these.

sure no problem, ok i would considered the fruits/vegetables as items due to in each level you collect 1 of each, carrot, onion, green pepper, melon, then a watermelon, then you obtain a 1- up when you get all the fruits, or you would see a 1-up laying in the level somewhere, while the one up is a item as well and the chunk of meat, is a power-up which turns you into monkey bonk the first time you eat it, the second time you eat it you turn into rage bonk, yes Bonk is a good guy, as well as princess Za, the classic bonk, the pirate bonk, bonk with shades, and teary eyed bonk are just alternate costumes for bonk, while the coin is a item as well get 100 and you get a 1 up, the golden rock wheel is what is used to unlock the alternate bonk faces when you beat the game, the rock wheel is grey which represents that you already obtained that costume, the skull is not a badguy either it is a elevator that takes you to the boss, for example reach the 5th part of the first zone then you fight Huey which is the first boss, Gladdis is the second boss, Kongo Zilla is the third boss, Punchy Pedro is the 4th boss, T.Ractor is the 5th boss, while the final 6th boss is King Drool which has 2 form's Armored King Drool, and Himself Without armor King Drool while the flora springer, floret sprung help you reach items they are like jump pads from Banjo-kazooie for example, and twinkle toes helps you avoid certain badguys like the amigo by staying ontop of it, to avoid getting hurt, then pretty much everything else is a badguy, except for moonland which is a stage, its where you fight your arch nemesis King Drool, who kidnapped princess Za, the cage held princess Za captive, the ancient rocket is what you use to get to moonland to fight King Drool, and finally the damaged crown is the crown of King Drool`s that falls off his head when you defeat him.

Thank you, that was quite informative. I was going to see if I could find videos to see how most of these things are used, but you just saved me the time by saying everything I wanted to know. Tongue

For future reference, one thing you want to be careful of is the rotation of the models. Looking closer at these models, it's apparent that a number of them are slightly off, leaning to the side and backwards. I'm still going to accept these, but it is something to keep in mind in any future rips you do. It makes it easier for everyone when the models are nice and evenly aligned with the ground, facing straight forward.

well this game series is a side scroller series/platfomer game series alot like the classic megaman games i highly suggest playing them ^^

also thanks for letting me know about my models being like that, i'll try to solve that problem on my future rips ^^

as well are you going to list the game under its Japanese title PC Genjin Or its English title Bonk's Adventure?

and thanks for going out of your way to upload them ^^

I'm using Bonk's Adventure, since that's the localized title of the original, but I'm keeping PC Genjin in the title as well since this remake was never localized.

Also, the models are now up. Believe me, all the models are there, even if you can't see them in the thumbnails I made. I grouped together some related objects, such as the two color-swapped flowers and the forms of King Drool.

Yes, every model submission on the site includes the textures that belong to it. Of course, you could have found that answer yourself if you tried downloading one of them. Tongue
