a while ago we were hitting on valve because they were making a shitload out of a game thats basically a clone(if not a fangame) of minecraft.

yet on portal 2's after hours book, there is this part where robin walker looks down on a game because "it looks too much like quake"

and this comes right from the screenshots displayed on after hours's page on steam.

now you could say "but it says team fortress is based off half life" and yes, it is. but there's a huge difference between half life and team fortress isnt it? even when they both work under the same mainframe, they're two completely different gaming experiences.

Team Fortress isn't really a clone of Half Life because the gameplay is very different. They may run on the same engine, but that doesn't mean they're the same game.

The reason many call Terraria a MC clone is because Terraria uses the same gameplay ideas (cellular-automata world, mining, crafting) with seemingly few surface changes. Now, I wouldn't say they're the same game, but one very obviously takes much of its gameplay from the other.

to clear things up:

terraria from 1.0 to 1.0.6 was a little shitty

terraria with new char getting random ores is shitty, but once you get through all that shit the game starts to be epic

1.1 is the best version of terraria so far all of the previous versions may be considered shitty

also, speed up to 2:44 where you can actually see the difference between minecraft and terraria

Quite honestly, I've had more fun playing Terraria than I did for Minecraft.

I am searching for to buy this game and i have not played this game yet but according to my friend this is a good game and i will play it soon.
