Small hint: If you ever want to get the full sprites without overlayed effects, I suggest vSNES. Just import a quicksave into it, go to scene viewer (mowgli symbol in the upper task bar) and delete the single pieces of the sfx.

It also helps against screentone, ripple effects, mode 7 and so on.

I cut out through it. The effects go along with the animation sprites. There is a separate strike hits, they look like green. You can try to crack the rum and the sprites look like they look in reality.
