It seems that Reshiram and Zekrom were switched on the version covers though. Reshiram himself was on the cover of Black, but the Reshiram/Kyurem fusion is on the cover of White 2 (and vice versa for Zekrom)

Well, if the games are continuations of the previous games' stories, Reshiram would have already been caught by the hero in Black version, so only Zekrom would be left to do anything interesting in Black 2(and vice versa for White 2)

That actually makes perfect sense and would be really awesome!

additionally, apparently the unova pokedex goes up to 300 instead of 150 now

Jar and Kori and Hunter and I discussed this pretty extensively last night and I think we all came to the conclusion that all of the designs are fairly good except for the male protag, who looks like an idiot.

Some observations we had:
-The Rival and the two main protags pupils are white.. symbolism ahoy
-There is a new starting city and this probably wont follow the same linear progression path that B/W did
-Both characters are wearing some form of swimwear and there is an added beach area to the game as showcased with the water gym leader
--This means we might be traveling the right half of Unova this game as opposed to the left half (there was a beach city on the right half IIRC)
--This could also mean all out brand new areas


I know a bitch storm about these scans is imminent, but asks yourselves, didn't we all have a bitch fit when we saw B/W? and D/P? Just get over it, you KNOW you will buy it and love it. Might as well admit it to ourselves now.

Good point about the swim wear, hadn't caught on to that. And yeah, seems it's confirmed new cities and areas, plus old areas that seem to be freezing over? Looks nice.

But damn it I still want to go to Hoenn as an after-game.

I actually liked the characters and pokemon I saw for the past two generations, these though...just look bad, the characters look extremely typical shounen, they have idiotically crazy hair, and THOSE VISORS ARGHHH.
I'm just going to get Conquest and wait for Gen 6.

Assuming the guy in the black hair is the rival I honestly hope he is a little more like Blue from the original games.


Honestly something tells me this guy is going to be the next bad ass rival and I hope this is the case.

(oh, and chances are I'm going to play as the girl protag. at this point)

I didn't like some of these designs, namely the male protagonist (what the heck is happening to his hair there, that's horrible), and the professor (?) who has an even worse hair. The girl is nice I'm probably gonna use her (I usually like to see my trainer as a representation of myself, but this time I don't think this will be possible). The rival is okay, he looks like he came directly from an Inazuma Eleven game. That rocker gym leader though (who uses poison type for whatever reasion), all my love to her

What's nice about all of this is that we're not getting the "Platinum" treatment this time! It's a new story, with new elements, new characters and a lot of new things! I'm excited! Oh yeah, as much I didn't like some designs, I'm pretty sure I'll buy it anyway.

They look a lot younger than the protagonists from B/W, they were actually older than the norm. These two look butt young again.

Yeah, they look nothing alike for me, huh. And younger, instead of older, since 2 years passed since the first one.

I love how the construction site that was in the desert in B&W is now a full town in B&W2. It's neat to see that kind of stuff carry over.


Also, I kinda hope they do a G&S thing where theres 2 regions, but instead of 2 actual regions, the right side of the region thaws after game and you can do stuff over there.
