RADICAL ASSKICKERS!
Explanation:
I've started this project back in November and have been working on the graphics and engine for a while. It's being created in Game Maker 8 and will consist of 3 characters, 8 stages for each of them, branching level paths, and full on 1-plane, platforming asskicking(beat-em-up). The basic features of the engine are nearly done, and I'll post a engine test download when I'm done.
Controls:
4 directional buttons and 2 buttons, one for jumping, and the other for attacking. Double-tapping a direction, excluding up, will result in a dash/roll.
Attacking while holding a left or right button will result in alternating attacks, not connected to the character's basic combo. Special moves will be conducted by button combinations or press the jump and attack buttons.
I don't have radular screenshots to show you guys so I'll just post my pixel work and animations that I've been doing for the game.
I'll post updates and more concepts in the future. For now, I shall work and find inspiration!

looks really nice so far, you gonna do a parrallax scrolling effect and a redo of the background yeah? Brilliant art on the character looks well shaded, slightly 16 bit and just generally awesome

background on the engine is just to test the parallax effect, nothing special.

I'm a fucking horrible programmer.
You should look through my source, the code is just a mess.
I'm taking Computer Programming in my sophomore year of high school so then I can learn some better ways of programming.
Also, it's hard to do super rad things without learning trigonometry...

Unfortunately, most programming courses within schools tend to suck. It's probably better than nothing, though...
