i'm taking a break from the running attack. i'm losing motivation to work on it, and that's basically the worst thing that can happen with me, so i've temporarily moved on to other animations. don't worry, i'll come back to it and incorporate your criticisms and suggestions. for now, i've started on crappy's jump.

alright, i'm working on a couple new characters, based on some close friends who have never even set foot here, and i want to get some criticism on the idles before i work on anything more for them.
amber: i think amber's breasts might be moving too much. that's about it. i don't want to gainax. loaf: loaf's a sloth. i'm kind of worried that his fur tufts are too random for me to easily work with them in later animations. how would i go about making the sprite smoother, but still furry?

Yes, they move too much, also she is leaning forward.
YOu could stylize the fur, only place a few tufts at certein positions. Usually at joints and on the chest according to my furry folder. Thanked by: Zadaben, Crappy Blue Luigi, Garamonde

what's wrong with leaning forward? it's completely intentional.
tried some stuff, both animation-wise and sprite-wise.

why is her mouth where her ear would be
it looks distracting, place the mouth in a more believable place. Thanked by: Garamonde, Crappy Blue Luigi, Gwen

does this look better? (04-27-2012, 01:25 AM)Crappy Blue Luigi Wrote: what's wrong with leaning forward? it's completely intentional. Loaf: I think there needs to be some movement in this guy, maybe some breathing, wind blowing his fur? He looks stiff. Thanked by: Crappy Blue Luigi

can someone explain why amber shouldn't be leaning forward? i'm not sure i understand where the problem is. i'll gladly try to fix it, i just don't know why i'm fixing it.
first attempt at breathing, not very confident in it. please dissect.

I like it so far, it just looks like it needs more. It strikes me that a Wookiee thing would move its shoulders and perhaps flex its legs slightly when breathing.

Well if the leaning forward is intentional then I suppose it's fine, it's only that she looks like she's gonna fall on her face as soon as she lifts a foot.

i see literally no change on the mouth
put it BELOW her nose, not below her ear. Putting it that way looks dumb and ugly.

I thought that "mouth" was the rim of her glasses, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing.

I think you're right, they are part of her glasses.
