Looks like a fangame to me more than anything, especially the ridiculous amount of pillow shading and colors for the sprites.

Not to mention the HUD on the bottom wouldn't be so ugly, if this were truly a remake that would have been remade and made more aesthetically pleasing.

OK, wow. I actually made this myself in the hopes that I was good enough to fool at least one person but that is apparently not the case. I just wanted to know if I was any good, and besides, I used official sprites and the HUD and stuff from the actual PSP remakes of FFI, FFII, and FFIV.
P.S. This is the actual first battle in FFV.

I believe this should be move to spriting discussion since, ya know, you made it lol
Here is a tip for remaking an old game, and this is just my opinion of it. If you are going to scale up the sprites, you should make more details in the characters. The reason why the characters were scaled down like they were before was beside of the limitations of the console at that time. Not only that, but the pallete was limited as well. Since you are just doing a revamp(don't have to worry about console limitations), you have a huge opportunity for innovative potential at your disposal(changing character designs up, adding more details, etc) It's great that you are trying out a creative pallete, but you went a bit..too crazy on it. It looks like there is over 50 colors..IN ONE SPRITE. Thus giving you the not-so-satisfying look for your sprites. I say try to go more for a clean and edgy look with a pallete count of around 16-20.

Uh... OK? Lol, thanks. I just wanted to keep the character sprites close to the original like they did in FFIV Complete Collection.

Bartz's hair is kind of a giveaway. It still looks too much like Cecil's.

Well, your name IS TheSpriter; figured maybe you'd like some spriter to spriter feedback lol
I have never seen nor heard of the FFIV Complete Collection(not much of a FF fan, no offense), so I wouldn't know if what you were trying to go for was close to that product. I honestly hope FFIV Complete Collection isn't anywhere near like this. Thanked by: Gwen

Also, just remember, don't take anyone's comments personally -- we're here to help, not to jab you.
Just most of the time it's more straight-forward and blunt than others, but you get used to it. It's to show how far you're willing to go to improve upon yourself, to exceed yours and others' expectations. Everyone's got potential, so just pay close attention to what these intelligent people here have to say.
