Yeah, my thinking is that it's got a pattern like an insect. The light is supposed to be coming from above.

Funny story about this:
Me: *as I am working on it* Hey..I should probably save this. *saves..then MSPaint immediately crashes* Not sure if I made it better or not. I never played an Earthbound game(not that I have not wanted to), so I don't know if I got the underbelly right..I'm just going by y'all's work.

Anyhow I don't know why but that looks really weird to me.
