Green Lantern Sprites

Hello,

I am new to particpating on this site although I have been using the site for ages. My name is Kedric. I do sprite animation for Machinima.

My team is starting a new Justice League series and there were no Green Lantern sprites that matched the style I needed. I was forced to make my own. What I decided to do was edit the Aqua Man sprites from Justice League Task Force SNES. I did not realize it would take 10+ hours to edit this. I had to change so much. This is much more than just a palette change.

After a week of hard work - I wanted to share my work with you. I noticed you guys can be pretty cruel to each other on here. That's fine. I like constructive criticism but keep in mind that this is my first customized sprite sheet.

i'd have to ask you to post the original sheet/character if posble so we can actually compare how much work was put into turning aquaman into green lantern.

Hey no problem. I should have attached it before.


Here is a list of the things I had to do (other than palette change):
-Remove Hair, add new hair
-Add Mask
-Remove Belt, Add Abs,
-Remove fins on legs
-Raise shirt to top of neck
-Add Lantern symbol on Chest

For edits I have to admit these are decent.

I would have liked it a lot more if you put the effort in and actually make green lantern use his ring powers or whatever. which shouldn't be hard at all if you use references to help you out.

You know what, your right.

I only did what was needed for the script. But, I just realized I am suppossed to improvise the fight scenes.

I am really not a good enough spriter to use a reference. This sheet took me 10 hours and it was really painful. I might try to find an easier way to do it in the animation rather adding ring power to the sprite sheet.
