Thanks
heres some more updates.
The character is from metal max returns and I was thinking of using this as a starting point for the sprite competetion.(take a sprite and remake it differently)
Also I made my spam character into a robot master.
Would anyone be up to contributing to a thread where you make a Robot master out of an avatar/character you made???

I've made a load of old Robot Masters, but I'm not sure the world is ready for Classy-Homer-Simpsons'-Butt Man.
Those sprites are awesome too.

you could make a character called "classy man" and utilize the top hat, eye monocle, and have a homer-ish pallete.

The pin-up girl looks nice, though you might wanna arch her back a bit more and have her throwing her head back. Right now her back looks kinda stiff.
Guts' expression looks kinda weird. I know he's probably closing his eye for a reason, but it looks more like a bug just flew in it while he was trying to look stoic. I think it's only the eyes though, the mouth looks great. Hair might need some more volume as well.
...Roshi's looking AWAY from the pin-up girl. That's completely out of character!

Cool sprites
Though the womans front leg looks longer than the back one, if you sit on your foot you'll notice your foot touches your buttocks instead of going further. (maybe.. best to google kneeling poses). Not sure if the torso looks too short, or maybe because it's the same size as her head. Not sure about the arms though.. I mean if it's not meant to be realistic proportions then pay me no heed xD
Though if it helps you could straighten out the figure and see if the lengths of legs/torso etc are even and stuff. I used to draw arms too long, never realising how short they actually are from the wrist to elbow >.>
I like your sprites for the variety and style!

Hey there Virtualboy.
I like these sprites, especially the girl!
However, I have a few issues with both, but I won't reiterate what Keiang or PixelPixie have said.
Roshi's mouth is quite discreet and doesn't reflect the way it is usually depicted in Dragon Ball. Also, the sunglasses: they tend to have a red frame and the lenses are green. I think his left leg (to our right) could be more defined, as I can't really tell what's happening there. Giving him his stick and making him slouch will make him seem older, too.
Now, for the girl.
The current pose lacks tension: it would suggest force, which is necessary for balance. I tried to convey this by straightening the leg and arching the back. Bringing the arms closer to the body will give a kind of intensity and closeness to the pose, suggesting that spreading her arms any further would make her fall over.
I hope this is useful. It'd be a pleasure to elaborate if needed!
