Leaf and Ephraim are really the only good ones out of this list. Alm from FE2 is also good.
Lyn, Ike, and Celice(FE4) are messed up. Lyn's dolled up like a Samurai when culturally, she's a nomad(similar to the Native Americans or Turkic peoples.) Celice is also dressed up like a Feudal Warlord when there is nothing eastern cultured in the continent of Jugdral, least of all Grandbell(Shanan didn't even look like that and he's the closest thing to a Samurai in FE4.) And that looks nothing like Ike, who is a Mercenary/Hero type, not some medieval cyber ninja.
Also let's not forget Elincia, who looks like a Yu-Gi-Oh card monster, and Eirika, who is wearing a freaking wedding dress and has abandoned her fencing style swordsmanship.
I love the new Roy, along with Lyn. And differing from the others I enjoy Ike's design as well.
Also with Fire Emblem, they might be trying to make it more eastern influenced? Just some thoughts of mine.

I would have no problems with this, and would actually welcome it... if they do it without utterly destroying the foundation they have already built up. They are dredging up old, well established mind you, characters and the same old western European mythos and lore, and combining it with an art style that makes absolutely no sense and actually means to undermine an extremely well-established game series.
If they want to make it more eastern influenced, how about a Fire Emblem, all new characters would be a novel idea, with classes, history, and story that actually reflect eastern medieval/feudal times. A lore that centers around new mythology and names would be great. Something that doesn't have to pander to *Marth* or *Roy* or *insert fan-serviced female character here* Eastern culture is absolutely ripe with amazing stories and tales of adventure that Fire Emblem could launch off from.

So recently I heard that Nintendo plans on making a new Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo 3DS. Is this true?

Please use google / the forum search engine next time, we already have a FE topic and the first post mentions the 3DS title.
Just wanted to stop in and let everyone know the Roy redesign has got it going on. He looks like someone out of Ubell Blatt or something, whatever, I don't care, it's awesome. Also Lyn? Those swords are working it (her outfit but that should be obvious) girl, slice and dice those fools.

Well... I'm not really a fan of all of the designs, but I'm sure the game should be pretty cool. I, for one, am pretty stoked!
