PSI Magnet doesn't block any attacks normally (it's a move that's supposed to siphon off enemy Psychic Points to replenish the user's Physic Points). In Smash, the move got changed to block projectiles. Any projectile damage intended to hurt Ness healed him instead.

Since you know little about MOTHER, I suggest you go to starmen.net and browse the main site.

Ness doesn't use any of the moves he does in EarthBound (Except PSI Flash). They're all barrowed from Paula, one of Ness' partners.

And yes, he PSI Rockin' is a real move.
