Guys, let me make this clear: Transparency is an option, which'll just cost you one color, the point of including Transparency in the 8 is so that you're forced to actually NEED all the colors in your palette, and because you focus more on the gradients more than anything.
But really, Dark, your fine, Mr. B, you're good too. The background color can either be a new one(like transparent) or one of the colors already in the sprite. Because frankly, I don't see 9. :o

I doubt they accept edits in the compos, and I'd suggest that you don't save as .jpg any more.
