Now that I've had some Lucky Charms and done a little Medititing, I'd like to reiterate my original point. I got swept up in the debate and forgot my original stance for a while.
When I mentioned the relation between Pokemon and Animals, I didn't mean that as to say that Pokemon were biologically animals, or otherwise Animalia. I meant that they occupy the ecological and evolutionary niche that animals do in our world. So I didn't actually mean that they were animals, but that they are the equivalent.

There are thousands of reasons as to why people SHOULD complain about finished designs.
I guess, but it's not like the designs will change if people complain about them. I mean sure, there are some Pokemon designs I don't really like, but I won't really complain because that's just a waste of breath. I'd rather enjoy the Pokemon I do like.
Eh, I guess I've grown sour about this because I keep hearing people whine about Gen 5 having an ice cream and trash Pokemon and that Game Freak is running out of ideas....it's just grating on my nerves.

I'm looking at you "Cofagrigus"... What a horrible name! Pokemon names should be fun and easy to remember. They seem to be trying too hard to come up with "clever" names these days. Being "clever" does not mean better.
Well there aren't any names that bug me in particular. Some, like "Oshawott" confused me but now I see their charm.
The only name that does is Mr. Mime now that genders were established by Gold and Silver. I mean it's no one's fault. Though you have to chuckle at how they shrugged and went along with it, even calling the pre-evolution Mime Jr.
(I think Cofagrigus is easy to remember. )

I don't think I see anything animal on Magnemite, Grimer, Voltorb, etc and the list goes on.
They are what they're told they are (plants, objects, aliens, bugs, animals).
But something (the ability to fit in Pokéballs?) classify them all as Pokémon.
Honestly I never have trouble with names once I play that respective Gen.'s game and get to know all the Pokémon.
If you were to put all the Pokémon in front of me I could probably name them all. Maybe.
But I might also be a nerd... eheh.

Don't fucking hate on Garbodor.
I hate names like "Feraligatr" where they just ran out of space and didn't give a shit.

It kinda fits though, as this aquatic monster does the name thing.

Still a reptile with a name more complicated that it could've been.

Do you guys think the move to 3D graphics could be a gateway to main series games showing up on home consoles, or will Pokemon games remain handheld exclusives?
I sure hope so. Think of the possibilities...

I prefer it being on handhelds.
Easier to trade with friends and play on the go...
