Hard to believe this game is coming out in less than a month.
SO PUMPED
I DON'T THINK I'VE BEEN THIS EXCITED FOR A GAME BEFORE

I just shit on my floor, that's how excited I am.
But in all seriousness this is the first time in a long time that I've been excited for a Pokemon game.

I've checked the new trailer on Serebii.net and I noticed that Pikachu's cry has been replaced with voice-acting. That is only the case with Pikachu (so far), the 3 Kanto starters still have their original cry. This could be edited into the trailer, but I doubt that.
The trailer also shows a bit of character customisation and Rhyhorn riding.

I'll just end up spoiling myself to oblivion, since there's no way I'm going to have a 2DS/3DS and the game by the time it comes out. Looking up the whole Kalos dex...probably watching a non-Let's Play Playthrough (because who wants some guy/gal talking over the music), and just seeing what's what. At least I'll know if I fully want it or not, since I've been on the fence from the beginning; lot of awesome features and updates coming, but also a few questionable changes and gimmicks. I didn't get BW2 after I saw all there was to see, since it was just a rehash of BW with a little extra, and that little continuation of the standard story. I don't expect XY to be that lacking at all, since it's all mostly new, but it still doesn't hurt to check out what I'd be in for with a purchase, and if it's a purchase I truly want to make.

Thinking about it more, I think the biggest hype for me is that fact that it's released worldwide at the same time--so I can't get dragged into the spoiler realm. I plan to get it the day it comes out, and you have no idea how excited I am to be able to say "Wait, my Pokemon's evolving? I WONDER WHAT IT WILL BE" and mean it!!
I don't think I've found a Pokemon in the wild that I wasn't familiar with since my first game squeeeeee Thanked by: Gwen, Sengir, Ton, redblueyellow, water dog

Well, if it turns out to be anything like Black and White, the evolution levels may be way up there again, so you may not see that happen for a long while XD. I feel like they did that because of the exp system update, and the abundance of Audino, but it was still a bit excessive.

I see no issue in that
it didn't bother me in BW either everything seemed pretty balanced

It's funny, I'm still not as excited as I was for Gen 5. I really liked Gen 5. But I was disappointed that the seasons didn't have a bigger impact on the game. I was hoping it would be like Animal Crossing (bugs and fish).
Anyway it doesn't look like seasons are in this game.

People are freaking out over this announcement, just because they expected the games to utilize the 3DS' 3D effect gimmick, but have found out they aren't.
Just because you have the choice and ability to do something, that doesn't mean you should. Come on, that's one of the first things you learn as a kid~ You have the option to place your hand on a sizzling stove, but you must be prepared for the pain afterwards. In the case of games, if you go in expecting something that was never stated to be added in, only to find out you aren't getting it, you're ultimately preparing yourself for disappointment. The 3DS' gimmick is the 3D effect, however Nintendo never claimed that all games would utilize it. Neither Nintendo nor GameFreak claimed Pokemon would use it either. They claimed it'd be a 3D game, as in a 3 Dimensional World, as in an X, Y and Z plane. The frustration I'm seeing around the internet is...well silly. It's not as if the game will suddenly cease to function or become a bad game from the lack of the gimmick. Thanked by: Baegal
Yeah Nintendo kind of did say all their games were going to be in 3D. The reason why this bugs so many people is because 3D is the 3DS' primary function. This would be the first Nintendo game for the 3DS that has limited 3D capabilities. And for no good reason.
As for your hand on the stove analogy... what the hell does that have to do with anything?! How does that even compare to what is going on? You're making it sound like 3D is dangerous and shouldn't be in there anyway. Just because something doesn't have to be put in doesn't mean it "shouldn't" be put in. A better analogy would be a car that doesn't have reclining seats. A car doesn't need to have reclining seats, but its not a bad idea to include it! Besides everyone has the option to turn the 3D off. But this game diesn't give you that option.

I'd love to see your source where they stated such, because I've never seen anything like that. It would be like if someone said Nintendo stated ALL Wii games will use motion control, even though some don't. I doubt they'd say anything like that, which would also go for the 3DS. There was no promise, and people are getting upset over a deal that was never made.
