Hi I split the posts on image editing software preferences over here. Please don't derail random topics with discussion about image editing software preferences as we already have a few topics on that topic. Thank you.

PS: The next person who posts here about image editing software preferences instead of over at the other thread and keeps derailing this one will get some warn points.

YET ANOTHER POST FROM ME! [Image: beatdown_by_rocknrumble-d5v5v0p.png]

Ladies and germs, I present you....BEATDOWN, yet another antagonists for the series Level Down. Beatdown is arguably one of the programmers' most powerful foe. He bares the Power Braces; one of the four Power Weapons the programmers are tasked to locate and acquire. The braces amplify the user's physical abilities by a whopping 240% This allows them to defeat almost opponent with relative ease. However, the braces come with a down side, they take a toll on the user's stamina, crippling their ability to fight as time passes. The programmers will definitely have their hands full with this guy.

The color values don't match, poor shading and his head feels so...shaped. Like a perfect circle (which is fine, but the shading has to make up for that.

inconsistent footing (the far foot seemingly going below where the ground will be)
inconsistent colour ramps.
I dont know the blue squiggly lines are meant to be they read as just random squiggles.
and the head is a bit far back, I dont know where his neck would go.

To be honest I'd say the sprite doesn't need the electricity(its an effect you could add once you start the game) right now its messing with the readability. Move the foot up.
Try to work with the colors, and the heads shading depends on your light source. right now its coming from about mid level of the character. (almost like it coming from the middle of him)

Presenting the comedic style of RnR!

I guess you can say I wanted him to put his best foot forward. 8D Huh? Huh?
.....Nothing huh? Alright, fixing that.

Bombshell93 Wrote: the head is a bit far back, I don't know where his neck would go.

I guess I should "head back" to the drawing board with this guy. ZING! Still nothing...tough crowd. Fixing the overall position now.

Novally, that comment really isn't helpful at all, if not even insulting. Instead, you may want to explain why you think it's worse and how it could be done better.

Jiminy freakin' Christmas! There must be something to this color thing I'm not getting from you. I mean, I'm not colorblind(aced that bad boy btw), but I really don't get what ya mean bro.

as Previous has said, just because someone isn't good with colors due to the fact that they're still learning about spriting doesn't mean they're colorblind. Blank

Oh sorry. I wasn't insulting, it's just the skin looks really odd. He looks orange and I'm sure that's not the tone that's trying to be achieved. The contrast looks really high on the skin compared to the clothing.

In this there is gives a pretty nice example of shading skin, (the color is also really good).

The skin also over powers the other colors and it doesn't help that the other colors are a bit dark also.

This is the area that's good to look for human skin tones in. That's where I get most of my tones.

I usually shift it to the left or right depending on the pigment. I shift it to the right a lot for darker skin tones sometimes.

That's a really desaturated spot to be looking for colors.

There's really not any single area to look for good skin tones. It depends on a lot of different factors. I think it would help you to find official sprites that look similar to what you're going for and see what kind of color values they use.

I was going to suggest the same thing but I thought it would be more helpful to tell him how to do it. That's wear I get most of my colors it usually works out.

RNR TRIES TO REMAKE PALETTE! TAKE TWO! *snap*

Okay, I took a look a few sprites from Street Fighter, and JoshR691 and noticed that when switching from coloring to color, their palettes differ when they lower the R,B,G, hue, saturation, and value a couple of notches and the colors are relatively close to each other on the color spectrum thing. Looking back at my palettes, I have the colors basically contrasting like black vs, white. One color will be in the middle of the color spectrum and the second one will be on the other side of the spectrum. So I tried to keep this in mind when redoing the palette and tried to keep the color changes from becoming too erratic.

And with that being said, I leave the verdict to you guys.
