I still think you need to take the highlights off the mountains. Like Cshad said, they just look bubbly right now.
Honestly, it'd add realism to the piece.
Also, add reflections of the mountains on the water.

The clouds on the second piece are lovely, I like seeing you improve Dex.
You've gone from mediocre Mario sprites (your older ones) to greatly detailed scenery. There's still a lot you can learn though, keep up the good work.

I think you should put lighter shading on the branches (remember, the lightsource is the moon, it's not a ground-based light source), plus I'm wondering if the kid and some stone shouldn't be darker, as the moon is pretty low.
I'm not too comfortable with the purple blob at the base of the mountains on the second piece, but then it's still a WIP.
Can't wait to see the end of these!
