Psp Ripping help
#1
I have been trying to rip Amnesia for psp, however I've run into a bit of a problem I can't seem to find much information on. I emptied the .cpk files only to find that the items extracted are just numbered blank .file extensions with no way to open or even tell what they are. I think there is a way to see their extensions with hex editing but I don't really know much about that... Is there anyone who can help explain how to convert or find things in the .files?Embarassed

If you could provide a couple of sample files I'd be glad to check them out.

Oh of course. (sorry depositefiles is the only one I really know of so I'll give you a few links to a couple random files in this folder)
file one

file two

file three

If you need more just ask, thank you so much for offering to help!

Well, I took a look at the first one in a hex editor, and after searching for a bit I discovered that it's an audio file in HCA format (which also seems to be referred to as ADX2). I eventually found hca2wav, a command-line program that can convert the format to a .wav file. It successfully converted the file, which is a nice piano track Smile
I also checked the others and they're in the same format, one was a guy saying something (a name?) and the other sounded like someone chopping vegetables.

Anyway, that's that for those files. Were these all in the same .cpk? If that's the case then I'd guess that that one contains only audio, and other stuff like sprites will probably be in others.

Oh its quite possible! Thank you very much, I'll check the other folders for the sprites. I should also probably look into learning how to read hex a little better lol Big Grin
