I mean, it probably isn't likely since it seems like they've tried to wash out the individual Toad character for whatever reason, but meh.

If Toad was playable, they'd probably use Toad's current design (aka, the Toad Brigade Leader (I think a few official sources have referred to him as the actual character Toad).

Either way, I'd love for Toad to be playable, and all of his moveset to be based around various power ups.

If you want to be unimaginative about it. Wario's Woods also utilizes bombs, enormous stone thwomps, mystical gems, falling enemies. Just look beneath the surface, all kinds of neat things.

Wanda could follow him around and produce drop items with B, which Toad could then kick around or stack to create various obstacles. Just as an undeveloped example.
