Submissions are Open!

You can change your submitter name to be different from your account name. There's a field for it on the submission form, but there's also an "Edit Profile" page which will let you change what defaults in that field. Smile

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth

Though, on the bright side of all this it will hopefully allow us to purge the site of the dreaded "do not steal/ask permission first" tags, and update old sheets with muuuuuuch better organized sheets than before.

Like when I upload multiple sheets at once.

Okay, so this now exists and is visible on the home page of the control panel. If you have any pending sheets, you'll be able to see them now.

hey,

sorry to disturb you guys while you're in your stages of developpement for the new site, but... Not sure I completely like the new system.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the new system is bad. I'm actually all for it.

But it's more of a concern in the way sheets are handled.

The old way, in which members posted their sheets on the forum, actually had the sheet "filthered" by the community members.
Giving crits on the sheet such as " you're missing xx frame" or " I've played this game before, you're missing this whole animation". Small things like that.

But when the sheet is directly submitted from the member to the uploader. It dosn't go through as much crits as the sheet should.

I'm not trying to make you guys work harder or try not to make your work easier. Just pointing this out.

Hope I didnt just post something I'm gonna regret :X

^I was also thinking this today, especially for new members. I mean, I'm sure those who check the sheets can point out most faults. Some tips could be missed out though, for example when I started submitting, Davy was pretty helpful with improving my tag to what it is now.

Still, not too big a thing in my opinion. Any members specifically looking for criticism or advice can still post in the submission forums.

We can still reject stuff, don't forget. We can also edit things.
Additionally, with the implementation of the comments system, this is still possible.

And in addition to what Dazz just said, nothing is stopping you from posting to the forum first. You'll just have to also use the new system to upload to the main site once you're ready as we won't be manually adding sheets from the forum any more.

I was just thinking about how the Custom and Edited Sprites submissions are going to affect this. Those might not work so well with this system.

Only in the sense that a lot of people might try to submit work that's not appropriate and get rejected. In that case, nothing is stopping them from joining the forum and getting critiques.

I haven't tried the new system yet, but I can't wait to! Trying to find time to finish some sheets

No one has yet tried to submit crappy sprites to the site and if they do we can simply hit the reject button (which tells them why) and direct them over to the forums.

By they way, how will you deal with updates to existing sheets?

People just submit the revisions (the edit button on that specific sheet's page) and we approve/reject it like any other submission. Smile

So... Where exactly is that?

I don't see it anywhere. :p

Unless non-staff members can't see it?
