Use imageshack. And PNG.

If it's a BMP, then Photobucket will automatically convert it to a JPG file. If you need to convert it to a PNG, I think Ifranview can do that. I've never used it, so I'm not entirely sure.

And PNG. That's what's confusing me. I always use PNG (bitmaps are terrible for storage), and this time is no exception. Photobucket's never done this before for me, so I wonder what's different now. I'll see if Imageshack does the trick. Testing: Good. It's working now. I understand what happened now. I took the Final Cutter rip off of my WIP sheet, and copied it to a blank paint document. Because paint's default file format is .bmp, and I was in a hurry, I ended up saving the clipping as a bitmap. Thus resulted in the weirdness from PB.

Man, I was messing with the molester today and I found that the helper sprites are WAY easier to rip than the Kirby ones.
Not finished yet obviously, but that is only about a half hour of work right there. Incidentally the pallet included in the .b file doesn't seem to contain the right colors for some of the special effects? I've noticed this in a few of them.

I've noticed that as well. I was looking through Sir Kibble's palette and I noticed that a number of his recolors were missing. I'm guessing the Ice Damage palette was missing on Biospark's file considering it was ripped with Elec damage's palette (or so it appears). I know the ice damage palette is in the bkir.b file, so maybe you could get the correct colors from it. Also, there's no palette for the blue slices that appear when using a few of Cutter Kirby's attacks, so I had to rip them and then recolor them with a 'best guess'. Is it just me or is it easier to rip from this game (more sprites show up intact in tm) than it was from Squeak Squad? Maybe it was just because I was a novice with tile molester...

Yeah, for the missing special effects I plan to use traditional game snapshots to get the colors and then just recolor them
ALSO! For anybody ripping a Helper sheet, note that each helper actually has TWO different sets of pallets contained in the file. The regular one, and then another that is used in the Helper to Hero arena game. So for completion's sake you should really get them both. [EDIT] Here, I'll just tell you what they're supposed to be so you know what to look for: Knuckle Joe: Red outfit Waddle Dee: Orange w/ Orange Umbrella Chilly: Greenish tint Blade Knight: Sky Blue Simirror: Green robe Sir Kibble: Green armor, yellow gloves. Plasma Whisp: Olive Green, yellow gloves Waddle Doo: Green body, yellow feet Poppy Bro: Purple Outfit Gim: Red hat, silver chrome Birdon: Green body with yellow wingtips Biospark: Red body with blue feet Bonkers: Red armor Burning Leo: Green face Capsule J2: Green body, yellow feet Bugzzy: Gold shell, purple body TAC: White body, red bag Wheelie: Green chassis Rocky: Green body, red bandana Sword Knight: Orange armor Yeah, apparently Sword Knight is included in the game as a separate ally from Blade Knight. I think the only way to get him as a helper in the normal game is when playing Meta Knight. In fact, he plays just like Meta Knight except without the touchscreen skills or wings.

Alright, I'm beating Milkyway Wishes tonight so I can unlock this stuff. Meta Knight has touch screen abilities? Do want! I was wondering what that green palette for Kibble was; I'd never seen it before. Do you know where one might find any of the recolors that appear when fighting enemies from different planets from MWW? Thanks for this info.

I am willing to help, but maybe a quick guide? Here is what I got when I opened up hmet.b:View > Codec > 4bpp linear, reverse-order. That should make the sprites show up. Now I got this: http://i37.tinypic.com/2zjgin6.png Any ideas?

But, since this is HIS personal project, it is not likely to post ripped stuff in HIS personal project topic. And I didn't really mean you, you only give advice, but there are a few others who are ripping. (Or atleast it looks like it.) |
