i played through castlevania SOTN without knowing you could go to the upside down castle
play again 1 month after having finished with the bad ending

Anyone remembered this gamy? Pilotwings 64 was my favorite Nintendo 64 game and the best flight simulator hands down! Big Grin

There is something I want to say about this game, there are some amazing things I discovered about this old classic that I think this game had more then what we saw during normal game play, I found more then just one song that's never been heard of in the actual game, in fact I have spend some time reading about the history of this game and might want to share some of the discoveries I have found on the internet.

First I want to start about the music, now I know the composer is an American not Japanese and his name is Dan Hess, I am pretty damn sure he might have the answer to my question about this song since I have already sent him a private message regarding the song last night I will be waiting for his reply later today but in the mean time I want to show you something you fans of the game might not have heard of before and here it is.



The number of this song is 27 and you can only hear it in the sound test option! What I find strange about this song is the song itself is located between the numbers 26 and 28 those two other song numbers are songs already played in Birdman mode which possibly means that this song number 27 might have something to do with Birdman mode!

Even if this song has never been heard from actual game however I still don't believe this song could have been a left over from the early beta version of the game and I think that maybe there is some possible way to hear this song in the game itself! Right now I have been making speculations about this game regarding the song and Birdman mode, even if the instruction manual or the player's guides already told everything but who knows what secrets could lie throughout the game and should I say somewhere deep in the programming and data memory? (if you know what I mean lol.)

By the way this game has been worked on by Nintendo since 1995! I have seen an old video clip of the earliest version of Pilotwings 64 before everything changed in 1996 when the game was out!

So there was indeed an early version of the game the earliest to date which goes back to 1995 a demo video exists in Japan! and it does look different compared to the final version, Hawk here was pink before he changed to yellow! Also the vehicles look different before the game was out, I don't know about the music and this is the only video I can find so far but here is my question did Birdman exists in this version? who knows.

One more thing, if one could hack through the game just like what happened to Mario 64 which had lots of hidden never before seen stuff like the mysterious Boo key and the unused Blargg enemy, I had a feeling that if Pilotwings 64 has a song never been used so who knows what else "unused" lies deep in the game's programming data and memory? I suggest someone should hack a part of the game, I am guessing that there could be hidden and unused objects that might help me figure out some clues regarding to this unused Birdman song however I still can't say that the song is unused however would like to see the rest of the programming lines to see if maybe this song was still LEFT in the Birdman programming part? Now that could lead me to another clue right there! Big Grin

Well, since this thread is active again (sorta).

I didn't realize that Hyrule Field's theme changed depending on what you did (standing, walking, fighting something, etc.).

Wow! Considering how relatively basic the N64 is, that's incredible! I didn't know that before! Thank you!

Anyway, I would say that two things I never found out in a game for the longest time come from Super Mario 64 and they are found in the Whomp's Fortress. For the first trick, I did not know you could punch the large plank at the top of the fort to create a bridge to the floating islands. I always thought you needed the owl.

As for the other trick, if you punch in a certain spot at the base of the ivory tower, you'll uncover a little nook containing a 1-Up Mushroom!

I realize these are not very big secrets and I'm not the first to know about them, but dang! Those are some nice touches!

Since we're on this subject, I used to think Miyamoto was all that and a bag of chips, too. When I found out what he did to the most recent addition to the Paper Mario series, I lost some respect in him.
