PSX Ripping Help?
#1
I'm trying to rip models from Tenchu II: Birth Of The Stealth Assassins, Jurassic Pak II: The Lost World, and Syphon Filter III. I've ripped the Syphon Filter Models + Textures, but the problem that I'm currently having is I can't figure out how to convert the "Model.HMD" files to any other model format. I've been searching all day to try and convert the HMD files, too no avail.

With Tenchu & Lost World, I'm having trouble getting the model files out of the .DAT files. I would much prefer to extract the Tenchu models as I love the game, but beggars cannot be choosers!

I know that these models are severely outdated, but as there is a nice lack of these models on Models-Resource... It'd be a good thing for to rip something which don't require BUMP / NORMAL maps. The reason for this, is because I can't do BUMP / NORMAL mapping. If I add the BUMP / NORMAL map, I can't add the textures, and vica versa. If I had enough skill, I would have already submitted Halo: Reach Models. Which I am willing to do, if someone is willing to Texture / Bump them.

Thanks in advance;

Would you mind uploading some of these files and linking to them? I'm not promising anything, but it can't hurt to take a look.

I could upload the Syphon Filter III ones, and the Halo: Reach ones... Tenchu and Lost World are too large. So which would you like mate?( Specifically Speaking );

Well I'm no model ripper and don't know about those textures and bump maps, so I don't think I can help you with Halo: Reach. I'd be willing to look into those Syphon Filter HMD files though, so you can upload a couple of those.

I would also be up for looking at those DAT files, but if they're too big that's fine.

HAHA Can do with the Syphon Filter Models. I'll have to archive them and then upload them. Give me about an hour or so. Gotta run too the servo for my fiance! The .DAT files are roughly 300MB each, and I have a 12GB Upload/Download limit, which is why I can't. Cheers for trying to help though mate.

Finally got it uploaded. Had to create a Google account LOL.

Hmm. I took a look and the good news is that they don't seem to be encrypted. So someone could probably figure out the format, if they had the time and skill. Bad news is I have none of the former, and very little of the latter.

I haven't been able to find much online either. I did find this, the PDF document there seems to have a specification on HMD models. It's quite possible it's talking about a different format though.

Sorry, that's all I can do. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful.

Thanks for trying mate. I had a quick look over the PDF and it has some useful information. Maybe if I feel up to it later, I might try and figure it out myself. Sorry for the late reply, been running around like a headless chicken.

Hi, I m trying to rip images from games like Dino Crisis 2 using epsxe psx-Vram and have a question regarding the process. I thought I should post this question here instead of opening a new thread.

I m trying to rip the inventory icons for the items and weps of the game and I was wondering if I could use a save state at the end of the game and would have access to everything? (including like...keys that get thrown out of the inventory when no longer needed etc..) or do I need to have a save state when its in the inventory in order to properly rip it?

Thanks

Not sure on that, you'd have to try to be sure. I'd have a savestate of both, just in case.

You could try PSicture for Dino Crisis 2 first. Since it looks like the classic Resident Evil games, the icons may be in TIM format (the main format used in Playstation 1 games, which all of the Resident Evil games uses even Survivor) and that could rip all of them without the necessity of needing to find everything.
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?
