For the sound/sight one, it would be cool if the sound one could neutralize light/vision, and somehow lightwaves could silence a noise.
I know it doesn't make sense scientifically, but it could be an interesting balancer between these opposing beings.
Or maybe they could complement each other instead?
(Complement: Groudon/Kyogre (to an extent) + Dialga/Palkia)
(Conflict: Reshiram/Zekrom + Xerneas/Yveltal)

@ Zab:
Thoth is represented as having the head of an Ibis, so we could base the legendary after that. Khnum has a head of a ram.
I know Athena's animal is the Owl, but I don't remember what Apollo's animal was. Yeah that was my intention heh
If I remember correctly, Apollo's bird is the raven
I was wrong, he has a whole bunch of animals linked to him, none of them "famous" like Athena's Owl or Zeus' Eagle or anything though, some of the more common ones were dolphins ravens swans lizards and wolves though, I think
also Apollo is the sun god, and Athena has owls which are associated with the moon, so we could play off of that, too.

No, artemis is the goddess of the moon and the hunt, Apollo (twin sister of Artemis) is god of the light, music and a bunch of other things.. Helios is god of the sun. Apollo's major animal would be the serpant, due to him slaying one.
I believe in Jesus Christ, if you do also, post this as your sig.
Matthew 10: 32-33
"32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."

Sun and Moon? Didn't one person suggest our legendaries be based off of day and night or something? Guess it didn't take off. Day VS Night would have been kind of boring anyway.
Besides I kind of ended the theme suggesting thing didn't I? Unless you guys want me to start it up again.

Helios is a Titan, not a god, (Speaking of double-checking mythology heh, thanks Gors) Helios and Apollo are both gods of the sun
Apollo does have many other themes as well, I already mentioned music, that and art are why he would be the representative for creativity.
Artemis is the moon Goddess I know, I never said otherwise
I said that owls are related to the moon, and therefore could involve a moon/sun subtheme with the Apollo one
Apollo's animal wouldnt be a snake just because of the one he kills in the story when he's little, the symbol that comes from that is his silver bow.
Please double-check your mythology stuff before posting it.
EDIT: Hi Koopaul didnt see your post
Im not suggesting a Sun/Moon theme, just saying that's another thing we could incorporate into the designs to polarize them more
The Athena/Apollo thing is still for Creativity v Logic

Because Pokémon needs donkeys.
Data can be found here.
It's Nitrodon, the Mule Pokémon. Fire-type. Nitrodon's signature ability is Nitro Boost, which absorbs Fire-type attacks to boost Speed.

Wouldn't it be a Nitrass
I think that'd be a good idea, using an animal that hasn't been used before.

First off is the color of the fire. I'm fine with it using something other than red, but with the green, I thought it was covered in grass.
The other issue I'm seeing is the face. Donkeys are often associated with being dim if I'm not mistaken. This thing looks like it was made to just flat out be angry for no apparent reason. I'm not saying it has to look like it's dumb, but I don't think the super angry serious look fits the idea of a donkey.

Also why is the donkey a Fire type? When I think of donkeys I don't think of fire.

We could make a grass type one and have it look something like

This along with a lot of other things
it feels really random to me, I can see a grass or normal or grass normal donkey, but fire just doesn't fit, since donkeys are rarely if ever associated with fire
why does it have four nostrils, what does that relate it to, and why on earth is the fire green, I can see that being a shiny, but almost all fire types just have fire colored fire, the exception being chandelure with its ghost fire, and then other shinys.
Also, as Caoxys asked, why is it so aggressive and blocky looking, donkeys are usually dopey and droopy, like Eeyore.
Now, that isn't to say there cant be an aggressive fire donkey, but there ought to be a reason for it.

Well if there's a meaning behind those strange things than yes it would be acceptable. Usually a lot of the weird desicisions in Pokemon designs do have some sort of mythical quirky reasoning.
Either way I think a donkey could also be a Ground type since a lot of them are used to carry things across desserts or mountains.

I think it should be Ice type. I mean, we have a fire horse, an electric zebra, an now and ice donkey.
Just sayin'.

Well those typing sort of compliment the actual animals looks. Stripes that look like lightening bolts for example. Donkeys are very plain in looks. The thing that makes them stand out is their big ears.

Fire can be green, but what do I know?
If I'm better off just saying "donkey", why the hell do I even bother participate in this?
