So I was working on a simple beat em up engine in Game Maker using Double Dragon as a basis, and I felt like spriting some stuff for it.
Not sure if this project will be going anywhere but some c&c would be awesome!
Billy Lee (Double Dragon), Mike Haggar (Final Fight) and Chun Li (Street Fighter)
Pay no attention to the fact that Billy is basically just a shameless edit of Billy's NES sprite combined with his arcade counterpart...
i'd use a darker brown to outline chun li's thigh against the robe she uses
also remove some of the detail on her hands because it's too noisy

a few things:
I think that Haggar's hands could be a little bit bigger, especially his left (the one on our right) it kinda looks like a stump. I'd also increase the contrast between the colors of his pants, and make his shoes darker, they kind of blend too much with his pants. and the two lighter skin pixels on his neck I'd make the same color as the shadow.

I think I've fixed that now. Also fixed a few other things with Chun-Li that I noticed.
Also added a few new characters to the sheet
New sprites are Scorpion (Mortal Kombat), Kazuya (Tekken), Abobo (Double Dragon) and Hugo/Andore (Street Fighter/Final Fight)
I'm not entirely satisfied with the way Hugo turned out. I've been through various designs and it's just difficult to get him right.
Once again, Abobo is just a filthy edit (As all Double Dragon characters will be)
since you took a more 'beat em up' design for your characters i think it would be better to blend the current andore with the original from final fight, what do you think?

I always saw Hugo as a visual upgrade of Andore. I was kinda excited to try to bring that new look back into the beat em up-style. The way I was thinking of linking it back to Final Fight was through using the same palette-swaps that that game used (Andore Jr., F. Andore, U. Andore and G. Andore).
I do however kinda like the idea of mixing the two. I guess his hair could be changed to something more like the original Andore..
I'll see what I can do next time I decide to work on this.
Its more because a more bmup adapted design would work better, the grab attacks and suplexes would fit better i think

I was thinking of turning his body forward a bit more when he grabs the player, the same way Haggar does in Final Fight.
