planned for a rockman 7 fc mod or maybe an actual mega man-esque game who knows

it's just the one sprite so i haven't exactly established a style yet but i figured i'd post this here to see if the anatomy is messed

The anatomy looks about right, it does seem like he is pushing his neck forward slightly, don't know if it's intentional.

Head seems to be placed wrong. And it's quite hard to read at a 1:1 scale.

i scrunched his head horizontally and messed with the facial details. is it more readable now?

also, i made an alternate version using the mega man separate-sprite-for-face technique to give his face some white. does it look better than without the white?

The head pose looks right to me now.
Maybe enlarge the nose a little bit, to make it even more readable.

Definitely looks more readable now, especially with the white highlights.

i did try to make crappy's nose bigger before realizing that's a design quirk i've been trying to stray from for years now. also, giving him a bigger nose made his face less readable. there's also a crapsman for fun and possible use, maybe

more importantly is the character below crappy: one is Classic Edition stevo with smooth hair, dark clothes, and a doofy grin. the other is THE IRON GIGATON, a PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER who is definitely not STEVO BRAINWASHED TO THINK HE IS A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER. his hair is frizzy for effect and he wears light spandex.

i'm still sort of trying to make these according to nes limitations, but with stevo i'm just going all-out and assuming the game has the benefits of an MMC5 chip so that each 8x8 tile can have its own palette. as such, i've provided a tile layout of stevo and THE IRONGIGATON's sprites so that you can see how everything works. i'm not making the most efficient use of tiles, here, but the idea is mainly to make sprites that adhere to the nes' limits--not so much worrying about size issues. hopefully it's clear which tiles are using which palette.

i've got plans for these sprites, but my first goal is to build a cast. since i'm not focusing on animating these yet, now would be a good time to drop any criticisms you might have so i can act on them while there's only one sprite to act on.

It was probably intentional but the Iron Gigaton's pants are banded.
Is there any way you can shade them to remove that?

ah, i see what you mean. it was supposed to look like an actual white stripe going down the leg; the same thing i have with the arm, basically.

i removed them both in favor of knee-pad-esque highlights. i think having the human arm's sleeve just gray makes the cyborg arm stand out better, anyway.

it's not waluigi, it's my 100% Original Character crappy the blue, sprited in a custom style not intentionally reminiscent of anything but probably accidentally so.
