Mario and Luigi Dream Team sprites

Half A Mind, let's try to keep things a little better in check from here on out. I wasn't here before what appears to be your posts being merged but it seems to me that you posted four times in a row and none of them actually contributed to the topic. If you have something to add to a previous post, you can always edit it but otherwise, please refrain from spamming, even if it is your own thread.

Hey there, I recently got a 3DS capture card and got these sprites of Antasma and (spoilers) the final boss. They are not perfect, but I think they are useable. http://i.imgur.com/L3obJWk.png
If you want you can add them. I also have one of Antasma in his overworld form if you want to see it, just ask Smile

Also I could use some tips on the best settings for the 3DS capture card, so I can get the sprites in better quality. Thanks~

I would like to see that antasma. Big Grin

I like how you want to help out with the project, but I feel that your rips are a little too blurry to upload onto the site. I would say you try to clean them up the best you can if possible.

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

Can you give me tips on how to do that? I'm pretty new to this. All I have to go off right now is a video file I recorded of the last two battles in the game, and my 3DS died and the charging port is broken. So I can't get any more until that's fixed but could you let me know the right settings on the capture card so I can get better images from it?

To be perfectly honest, I never used any video game capturing software in my life, so I don't know what to tell you.

I would suggest that you try to make out which pixels go where and make an entirely new sprite based on the colors and where the pixels are placed. Considering I think this is what Half a Mind is doing himself, I bet he'll be more than happy to give you more information on that subject and lend you a hand.

I am not doing that, no sir! I don't think that a simple capture card will work. thats why I am using my top-of-the-line, Super Hi-Res Digital Camera! I zoom in on the sprites I want, and then, SNAP! click-a-pic, then i upload it onto the computer, and then the pixels are perfectly clear! NOTE: This only works on the sprites on the BOTTOM screen. some sprites like this include:
Starlow
Mario
Luigi
Items
Gear
and MORE! I also think it would be easy to get that glove that points down toward Mario when he is underground.

That's... Not true. You can't take a photo of a screen like that, and have perfectly crystal clear, 100% original palette and no artifacts or ghosting. Don't lie to people.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

What are you talking about, Dazz? Isn't that how you capture your sprites from PS3 games? Wink

I could see it working if he had some sort of ridiculous setup with the camera sitting on a tripod and the 3DS positioned exactly, every time in the same spot.

...But that really doesn't explain how he's able to get screenshots of every frame, with the original palette. I'd like to see one of these super hi-res screenshots done with this Magic Camera.

Can you upload one of the screenshots, scaled way down unedited? I'd assume you'd have to do a little work in Paint but I'm just curious what those screenshots look like prior to editing.

I took the sprites from pictures on miiverse that the developers uploaded. But, since they were blurry, I had to draw over them the best I could.
I make webcomics. You can check it out if you want.

Well, they are not PERFECTLY clear... I guess I should have been clear... see, I take my digital cam, try to align the pixels, snap a pic, upload it, and try to replicate it by using Paint. I mean, I did it with Mario's idle animation!

I'm still curious to see an unedited photo of this anyway - maybe I'll return to spriting if this turns out to be a really effective ripping/editing method.

I'm not asking you to take selfies here - I'm more or less asking you to literally show us exactly how this process is done, because I'm not the only one genuinely curious about this incredibly effective method you've got going on here.

I mean, anyone with half a mind could see this being a win-win situation, as it'd shut all the haters up <:

Ok... that was clever word play. Anyways, sure! I can send over an unedited pic that I took.
Bye-ba-bum-ba-babye!

Here is my photo! I even included instructions!
NOTE
A software like Paint is recommended.

Errr… Where's the image? I tried right-clicking on it to get the image address, but when I entered it in on the top bar, it didn't show me anything.
