Shade (HELPER)

Since I haven't seen any helper characters since the sub-forum creation...

Currently working off the idea of a long range grab to allow easily delivered damage until vanishing.
This is by no means a finished product but help is greatly appreciated.

It lacks build-up, so I tried putting some in in my edit, along with some distortion for more effect.

Why do I feel the distortion is more so because you were beingtoo lazy to finish it :y. Joking aside I am gonna agree with Chris, the motion seems rather weak, and I think the sleeves(?) should act more like rubber whip grappling, so something like the motion of Luffy's gum gum pistol (only example I thought of.), with it having a bit of force behind it and it would look more cartoony imo.

even so, I don't think it'd hurt to have some more of the arms pulling back from Chris' example

So, hate to post without any progress, but I'm not exactly sure what I should do for the exit animation that would actually look decent. Anyone have any ideas? Shy

There's something lacking with the current animation. Maybe it's flow? I'm talking more about how the arms unroll. Instead of pulling him back, how about having him "unroll" forward? Like when you're trying to air out clothing outside or something or do that thing with your arms...to your bed sheet....so that it falls like a parachute..............that unrolling thing..........but have the roll always moving forward.....................................................nvm heh =/

A worse example may be....to imagine having two throwing knives, one on each side of your body. Then you grab and throw them with the same side hands. On the throw, the palm flicks up.....................................................................anyone understand what I'm saying?

yeah, the sleeves are just extending, they dont appear to be being thrown

there is no oomph to the attack, maybe give more build up or make the actual extension a little more lively
