Well to me the stories and villians got progressively more annoying after Gen 3. The whole "trying to fix this cruel world!" anime drama Final Fantasy bullshit that makes me want to puke!
O_O Gack! I-I am so sorry. I just went into a very dark place again. That's what these new Pokemon games are doing to me.
The series used to be so simple. Now it's become preachy and hamfisted in a terrible attempt to be "deep".

-other stuff- First of all, this mindset needs to disappear from here and the internet in general. Just because people don't have the same, subjective viewpoint on something like you do doesn't mean they're wrong. Saying things like this makes you seem like a very close-minded person who can't accept other people's opinions.
As for the rest of the stuff, I save my ultimate thoughts on a game for when I've played through it myself, from beginning to end, and I've already done so with Pokemon Black. Black and White DID have better character development and such compared to the previous entries, and I've already said as much. But even so, the exploration factor is diminished because of how literally the game takes going from point A to point B (even indicated by the map; it LOOKS like you could just go around the circle from any direction, but nope, you're only restricted to one half pre-League) and thus, your journey is literally a straight, connect-the-dot line. They always tout the phrase "Explore a new world, meet new Pokemon" as their highlight when they release new generation Pokemon games. How are you "exploring" when you're literally forced to be in one place at any given time? Where's the freedom of choice?
As for the difficulty curve, it was hardly much different from the previous games. It just hits you with a parabolic curve post-League, since you're likely within the 50-58 range in levels for your team, and everyone post-League averages at ~67.
Does this mean it's a bad game? Of course not. People seem to forget that it's possible to be critical of something, and enjoy it at the same time. Pokemon Black and White are GOOD, but they also take steps back from their predecessors in some regards. It's like they traded away some of the things that made the older games nicer to make the story better. Why can't we have both?

Opinions shouldn't just be accepted because it might hurt the other party's feelings. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it's a good one, plain and simple.
It doesn't stop the other party from still disagreeing and sticking to their opinions.
Edit:
Personally BW was way too much grinding for my liking, despite battling every trainer on the road to town, and fighting plenty of wildlife, I was never prepared to take on the next gym, and had to spend an additional 2-4 hours raising my team's level at a slow crawl, and by the 8th gym it just tuckered me out, and my copy has since been lost, so I can't finish it unfortunately.
On the other hand XY is way to easy; I come into every town over leveled as fuck, and have had to start running away from wild encounters, my pokemon are always getting close to not listening to me, and I've kind of put the game down as well, although I will finish it because I like the game, I really do.
But both games have some great things going for them, and the greatest thing of all these great things is the pokemon designs. THE BEST since the 3rd gen if not better, hell I got Scrafty on my left bicep.
I'm hoping they don't make this RS remake like either, I thought III had such a great balance between the two, so hopefully it's still there. If not, I can always spend another billion hours designing the most baller secret hideout.

It doesn't stop the other party from still disagreeing and sticking to their opinions. That's just what I'm saying though. You're free to disagree and such, but there's no need to be an asshole about it. Just state your points loud and clear. Saying things like "Your view sucks," and etc. only serves to create flamewars and unnecessary conflict. Leave that kind of stuff out, and the discussions will be better, I promise you.
Or you can just act like an adult and acknowledge somebody doesn't like your opinions and move on.

....Did you read my post? That's the message of someone who didn't get the message. The disagreement isn't the problem.

No I get your post, but if someone telling you that your opinion is stupid, (and psst, they give a paragraph of great reasons as to why they're maybe on to something) gets you to start hissy fitting and start a flame war, it's all on you, not the person who's just giving a response to your opinions.
What Tellis said wasn't over the line at all, he backed up his opinion of your opinion with some good stuff I tell ya' h'whut.
All you have to do is either leave the topic, carry on debating, or just say you disagree and keep on keeping on.

Fair enough.
I'm noticing your edit of your post up there detailing your view on B/W. I can't say I ran into the same problem, until maybe post game, when all the trainers are suddenly 12-16 levels over.

I feel like Game Freak realized that B/W were waaay too grind heavy, and that's why they made Audinos pop out everywhere and give out a fuckton of exp. Spray on some repel, walk around a bit, and badabing badaboom you're overleveled

Did you guys run into that, perhaps, trying to raise a full team of 6? Because of the HM Slave requirements of every game, I tend to just stick to 3 or 4 mains. So I'm usually right within the level range of every Gym by the time I reach them.
I did, but I usually kept 4 of them up to level as best as I could, and later in the game, would go to high level areas and bring the other two back up to level with some fast catchup.

let me end this argument: you all suck and you're fat. there. i win
What I meant was how the Unova experience echoes that of the original Kanto adventure. Even if you did spoil yourself and look at a few Pokemon sprites, when you actually played through the game you didn't encounter a single Pokemon from a prior region until the credits rolled for the first time. That, honestly, kept the game feeling fresh and I actually felt like Ash Ketchum going on his Pokemon adventure and not knowing what the hell anything was.
I was 11 again, catching Pokemon like a dweeb and not being selective over natures and IV stats. And I liked that.

Even though Tellis was a bit douchey about his opinion ("your opinions suck and they are wrong"), Gen 5 does sound pretty cool from what he's described.
I need to get Gen 5 soon, but unfortunately I have way too many other games that I need to play (and buy).

-other stuff- But they said I could lose weight on the Krispy Kreme diet....
I personally feel like the limitation of the new mons only was a hit a miss for me. I like that they wanted it to be an all new experience with the creatures, but in the end, it just made me wish I had some of my favorites on my team that I already knew about, like Lanturn and Gengar. Keep in mind Gen I was the only Gen back then, so there were no other monsters to be thinking about. Gen 5 tried to emulate that experience, but since returning players already knew about the other monsters, the big question from them, or at least for some, was "So when I can I catch an X?"
