I don't know how I feel about Chrom... I would rather have a more varied character from the franchise, like Micaiah or Sothe. At the same time, I wouldn't want too many characters to be from the same continent... Honestly, I think if I really had to sit down and think about which Fire Emblem character to include (if I could pick just one and Roy counted as a veteran) for the most variety in style, visual appeal, and franchise representation, I would probably pick Ephraim from Sacred Stones.His hair has enough green in it to differentiate him from the other Lords, he's using lances instead of swords which gives him a different kind of style, and he represents Magvel, a continent that doesn't have any reps in the Smash games yet.

I guess he was also one of the Awakening DLC characters, so +10 relevancy points.

Man, you have no idea how awesome Ephraim would be as a character. I myself personally wanted Eliwood, who is literally no one's favourite Fire Emblem lord but myself. Or even a trio of Eliwood, Lyn, and Hector working together and swapping out. Other popular character ideas include Micaiah from Radiant Dawn, and Robin or Lucina from Awakening. But while these characters seem really cool, Chrom is literally the most likely.

Chrom is the main character of Awakening, no matter what way you cut it. He represents the game as a whole better than Lucina or Robin. The GBA Fire Emblems came out decades ago, and really aren't as relevant as Awakening. Add to that, the only other Fire Emblems that came out in between Brawl and Smash 4 are remakes of games staring Marth, there isn't very many characters to clear cut choose to rep the franchise.

While he might seem like "another blue haired swordsman", I also trust Sakurai to make a unique character with him. Especially considering how wild his sword swinging is in Awakening when compared to Marth or Ike. The newcomers this game seem rather unique as hell when compared to other Smash iterations, so there's at least that. If not, and Chrom is literally a heavier Marth, I'd also be fine with that. Roy was my go-to Fire Emblem character in Project M, and since he's likely never going to come back...

As indifferent as I was to her personality I must admit that Cordelia would make an excellent Smash fighter. Can you imagine playing on a winged horse? You'd get to bowl through everyone on the ground and soar gracefully through the skies!! ... Also holding onto the ledge would be hilarious but mostly it'd be graceful! The animations would look amazing and make her feel like a very unique character. Also javelins.

However I would still be perfectly happy with Chrom. As long as someone from FEA gets in I'm happy.

uh no it didn't, it specifically said Chrom.
And just because it didn't mention Rosalina doesn't dis-credit the leak, there were 3 seperate parts to it and the first and second portion of the leak were before and after Rosalinas reveal.

I think "Main Character" can be interpreted as Chrom, Lucina, or Robin.

The fact that the leak did not include Rosallina does give me hope for some remaining surprises, however.

I love how people are getting more pissed off about the idea of Chrom (i.e. the fucking poster boy of FE:Awakening) being added then they are about the lazy re-adding of Ike that would cause the "problem" of "too many blue-haired swordsmen" in the first place.

Well, you see...

...I like Ike and would have been very unhappy with his removal. He is my favorite lord, and one of my favorite characters to use in Brawl.

I would be disappointed if Chrom got in. I would be absolutely livid had he replaced Ike.
