Sometimes, I really love Blizzard. This is hilarious.
That stupid pose that some people got removed over being "overly sexualized" was replaced by a pin-up pose.

The new pinup pose looks like a middle finger to the big babies who complained about the original, as Tracer still shows her ass.
Even the girl who works at the EB Games shop I regularly go to said the removal was stupid, pointless and an overreaction.
It's getting ridiculous when complete idiots bitch and cry over fanservice now. Would they'd rather have them dress up like this then?
(I am aware this has been brought up over the subject on other sites)

If they did that, then they'd complain it was racist. You can never win. Best solution: Ignore the vocal minority and make your product how you want.

How is a pinup pose any less sexualized? 0_o

It isn't any less so. The original pose was a placeholder that she shared with a couple other characters. They were originally planning on changing the pose anyway, but some people were complaining about it so that got bumped up higher on the list of priorities. They kept it pretty classy if you ask me. Ginyu Force has worse poses.

It really disheartens me every time I see a company back down from something because "someone got offended".
Any company that doesn't get props from me.
They said they were thinking on changing it anyway, this just helped make the decision. I realise that this could just be a cover-up or whatever but it is in beta so I don't think it's too unlikely.

How exactly is changing it to resemble a famous pin-up "backing down"? If anything they're upping the ante.
Also ... I really don't see what is oversexualized about the original pose. It doesn't appear that sexual to me, at least from that picture there. Is there more to it when animated? I really don't get it.

I didn't say they were, I was talking about in general.

I don't get it. If I was a well-built man and told to do a victory pose I'd want to look pretty sexy/awesome in it.
I mean some games have dumb things (Dragon's Crown and it's Sorceress for example. I simply couldn't play as her as it just looked so ridiculous) but this is like a non-issue and seems to be the angry few just shouting loudly.

Which is funny, because from what I've read, the Sorceress is actually the best character in that game, with the highest survivability XD.

Sorceress is probably one of the most popular game characters to date in Japan...Sure, thanks to fanservice, but whatever.
I think all in all, people need to calm down and not make huge deals over fictional characters. While perhaps a fictional character can make an impact on individuals or even groups of people, it's best to not take it too seriously and just have fun playing games/watching films/reading books/etc.

Yeah you try playing as the Soceress and have your housemate/girlfriend/mother in the room and not feel uncomfortable. Cannot be done. And this is coming from a guy who used Ivy in Soul Caliber 2 (her design got dumb in the later games as well).
I don't mind sexy designs but when something is over done it just looks really dumb.

That sounds more like a personal problem than a problem with the game, honestly. It's not the game's fault you don't have enough courage to play something you're interested in, through a specific character, in fear of being judged.
The developers designed everything how they wanted, and how over the top it looks or not, there's no denying the game is wonderfully animated with a unique artstyle. Like hell I'm going to let tits and ass ruin an experience as interesting as that for me.

You know I think it's more because it just looks stupid. Like how in Yoshi's Island DS the enemies sprites clashed with the older style. It just bothered the bejebus out of me making an already pretty poor game just unplayable.
I realise how sad that sounds.
