Fair enough. The shading on her shoulder still bothers me, as it's pretty much a band.
I'm guessing you want Maya's face to be like Phoenix, in terms of the pose? Here's what I've got:
Tried addressing what I've mentioned previously. Hope it helps :B

I'm guessing you used this as your main reference? For whatever reason the bow is on the wrong side in that picture.
This is what I came up with after more editing. I tried to edit one of your heads, but I just like the one that I had better, sorry.
About the banding, my main reference was this: As I look at it now, though, the shoulder shading doesn't follow a perfect line like I thought it did. whoops.

The problem with that head is that it doesn't seem completely in style (probably because of the eyes) and the jaw makes her look pretty masculine.

The curve in the jawline is too pronounced and the jawline rises too near to the ear. The eye seems misplaced in the face (maybe a bit small too), like it isn't following the perspective/angle it is at. Generally you can still improve the proportions, by raising the nose, chin and mouth a bit?
The cloak/purple thing doesn't drape very naturally. Note how it tumbles almost in a slight curve (more or less straight). I think the bow could benefit being to the right, as it's pretty redundant being hidden by the arm.
Keep going!
This is making me want to play Phoenix Wright :p

I fixed up the face based on your criticisms, but I still don't know what you mean about the cloak thingy. Could you show me how it's supposed to go? Also, sorry, but I don't really want to change the character's design by changing which side the bow is on.
You totally should play ALL of the Ace Attorney games.

The new face looks pretty correct to me. Using this image, the eye color, eye size/placement, shading style, hair strands, etc are all accurate. Even the size of the mouth is right.
Her ear's a little short, but not really an important thing.
Maybe it's time to finalize the body?

I edited a sprite of Maya to be in her outfit from the Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra and Jazz album covers.

Fantastic work as always. Your AA is silky-smooth and the shading looks quite believable. My only complaint would be the bowtie, which might benefit from a little desaturation to blend with the outline a bit better.
