Final Fantasy V iOS
#1
Hi, I'm from the Final Fantasy Wiki, and I was just wondering how one would go about ripping the sprites from the Final Fantasy V app on iOS? It's been done using Final Fantasy VI before, but we don't know how to do it for V. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

The only thing I could think of would be to take a series of screenshots, and crop the sprites.

As opposed to ripping them straight from the app? Because there was a way to do it for VI. Specifically ripping from the iOS app package. Hm.

What kind of file format does this game use?

The files are placed within .bin files, from what we've seen. Our problem is just that we can't open those with anything but the app.

Seems to me that there are a number of PNG files within those .bin files. I've never really been all too good with dealing with png files, but you might be able to find someone who is. All I managed to fathom is that the data is stored in a number of ways, kind of randomly, throughout.

I got some portraits, but that was all. There were a couple images not totally screwed up. Maybe this might help?

Could someone upload a couple of .bins? I could download the .ipa myself but I'd rather not download all of it to only look at a couple of files.

It's has all the bins that are in the game, because frankly there is no way to know which ones actually have the relevant data.

Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

Thanks everyone for the help so far! Really appreciate it ^.^

Anyway; if it's impossible to see which ones have the right file, then I guess the best way to find out is trial and error?
