Newee's Sprite Thread: Featuring Sprites!
Ooh, I wanna see more of Link! I love the way this game looks. Be awesome if you made a Zelda 2 remake that was more accessible, sort of like Simon's Quest Redacted or something like that, especially since not having the NES's text limitations means you can write more and clearer dialog so the game isn't such an enigma. Of course, I'm just spitballing here.

I would like to remake Zelda 2 into a easier game using this engine, but there's already ton of other Zelda 2 remakes being made. It's actually one of the reasons I choose remake the first game.

Also I've been doin' some Zelda sprites
Zelda's clothes will change color depending on the of color Link's tunic when he finds her.
Just like in the original game!

Please tell me that Zelda riding Epona means she's playable.

I see. Though I can't say most of them look as good as yours. ^^

Also, will this have an overworld? I find trudging long distances in a platformer to be tiresome, which is why I never played through Simon's quest. It also makes alternate routes annoying because you know it'll be hard to backtrack to see the other stuff.

It's supposed to be loosely based on Zelda 1's overworld where you have to run around and search for dungeons, but it'll still have lots of areas above and below like a top-down game so there would be a lot of different paths and shortcuts to help you get around the world, instead of just going in one direction with a few splits.

I actually planned to have Marth from Fire Emblem to be the secret character you can unlock.
But now I guess we have two!

I feel like having that much detail would mess with the readability at such a small scale.

I noticed that little pixel by Link's mouth makes him look like he's grimacing.

I tried fixing the problems. I mostly think that Link didn't have too many details, but I did a lot to Zelda and Marth.

I'm too lazy to upload all of the graphics of the game so you can just download the game to see how it looks.
Just right click the file.

I was thinking something more like this. The way they are now makes them look like they're scowling. I figured this would look more relaxed.

Link looks very unamused in that edit. Unless he's dealing with a certain owl, I don't see any reason why he would look like that.

But I thought he was supposed to look slightly upset, like in the GBA games
[Image: Link_Sprite.png]

I mean the other look works well with Marth, but I tried a different one with Link.

Yeah, that looks good on Link. Also, I moved Zelda's eye in on mine because with her showing the white that far out, she kinda looks like Sid the Sloth.

I'm still working on the Zelda fangame, but not right now; I got another sprite request
It's Scrafty from Pokemon Black/White

[Image: Main_Stand_strip3.png][Image: Main_Jump_strip3.png]

[Image: Main_Other_strip3.png][Image: Main_Look.png][Image: Run1.gif]

If you didn't notice, this Scrafty doesn't have a-...
Wait... what are you doing here!?

Remember me? Yeah, I'm the Wario you made a ugly sprite of a long time ago and barely touched it since!
You didn't even make me a spritesheet! But you gave Mario and his recolor-brother four spritesheets EACH!
You've done enough of these freaks, MAKE ME A SPRITESHEET NOW!

Fine, but I'm still focusing on Scrafty.
And please don't do that AGAIN!

Whatever, and make sure you finish my walk sprites this time!

Your Zelda sprites lack in readability, because of the lack of contrast but also because of the large number of small pixel clusters.
I tried editing Link:

The Minish Cap sprite is far from perfect, but it makes good use of contrast. Hope this helps!

Chris, I'd pull the shoulders down a pixel in yours.
