Ohh! Looking very nice so far! You've got a distinct style here going on that would fit right in with other NES games. No real complaints, though I'm a little confused as to what that black streak on Bowser's mouth is.

New WIP. I started playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse (a bit of an mediocre game but fun nonetheless) and rather liked the design of the character I made, so I decided to sprite the character with a few changes, though mainly the outfit will be different.
EDIT: Got a little bit more done

Hey, that's a pretty neat design! And your colors look pretty great! Is it an original race for some sort of worldbuilding exercise?
There's not much C&C I could provide, but the shading on the arms could be a little better. If you gave the forearm and lower arm their own highlights, it could make the musculature a little more defined. You might also want to clean up the fur pattern a little bit. It's a little messy in its brightest areas.

Does this fix those issues?
Also, its just an idea I had. I tend to enjoy designing monsters over anything.

Those look really nice. The colors need more contrast, ad theres a bit of banding at the end of the tail, the arms, and the legs too. The only other thing I could suggest is to remove the outline (with lots of cleanup, of course) like this (and yes I drew that ) http://i.imgur.com/OyzABj1.png . That will result in a much more refined and realistic looking sprite.

I'd sooner die than attempt another sprite like this. So i'll be starting another one tomorrow like it, yay!
This was pretty much just a test in many different ways, detail, shading, female form, color palette shifting, color work arounds, and size. Roughly took about 3 days to make which tends to be my limit for working on something.

Trying to do a bunch of my old RPG monster designs redone and with a 3 color only limit and NES palette. This is so far what i've done today.
EDIT: Updated the current sprites a bit and added some other monsters

A bit more work done, kinda just sticking with the 3 colors only rule rather than stick with a style for now. I'll eventually fix them up to be the same style but for now i'll leave the ones that aren't as more of a concept. If you're wondering why I took out the second palette versions, its due to laziness. I still have the original ones but I stopped doing them for the sake of time. I tend to take a while on picking the colors for a second version, so I felt it better to just make those later.

Those last five are my favorites, especially Big Red. I want to see what the rest of him will look like.
Great usage of a limited color palette, and I like that you didn't limit yourself to one particular style.
The mermaid's left arm looks off to me. Not really the shape, but the color. Is it blue because it's blocked by the light source?
I do like the way you made the waves around the rock.

Thanks, and on the topic of her arm, if you look at everything else here the far parts of the sprites use the color directly darker than itself. So due to that arm being further than her other arm, I went with a light blue color.
Also did an animation for the green no armed dinodragon guy.
